As adults, most who see the photos of mutilated children are in total shock and the impression left in ones mind is hard to shake. The children who have participated one way or another, survived and are now rescued have unimaginable horror etched in their minds. I have to think that it takes time and special care to get them acclimated to a somewhat normal lifestyle and to the point where they can be released and available for adoption. I would imagine that there are many who never recover.
As I recall in 2003, my company had a booth at a fairly large trade show in Vegas. After the show, we crated our booth and loaded it in a U-Haul box van and I was going to drive it back Houston. I chose to go over the Hoover Dam as my route back. As I approached the dam, I was stopped at a check point. They said if I wanted to cross the dam, I would have to empty everything out of the back of the truck for a complete inspection, if not I could simply turn around and find another route. Based on my experience 20 years ago, the Dam seemed to be an area of concern back then. I would assume that may still may be the case today.
Peer review baby, Peer review....., is the evaluation of work by one or more people with similar competencies as the producers of the work (peers). It functions as a form of self-regulation by qualified members of a profession within the relevant field. They off themselves!
I am a firm believer in giving people a second chance. I am hopeful she sees this post, as I have a win-win situation for everybody. The owners name Corinna Sac, I would suggest she re-open her bakery at a different location and call her new business venture "Nut Sac.... Home of the Taint Tatin". Cum by for a Latte and a Pain of Chcolat, Carnal-les, The Millie-please-fill-me, or stop for a sack of doughnuts with holes and try our world famous "sugar balls". Oh, I hope she calls!!!
