SW Ohio here. Heavy haze yesterday. Smelled like burnt wood.
Near as I can tell google started it a couple of years ago. I was looking at my google calendar and thought "WTF is juneteenth?". And "How do I get rid of this?". Just turn off US Holidays and it goes away.
