Jesus was not just talking about actual children in the physical world but those that have converted and been born-again to be as innocent as children in the physical and spiritual worlds.

Those that believe that Jesus is the Son and follow his teachings are the Children of God.

You choosing to shrug at organized abuse of what are actual children by age, but also likely children in spirit is not a great look for someone that would invoke the name of Jesus Christ.
