I’m going to deviate (no pun intended) away from the subject here just to agree with you about the “religious” comment because, as someone who was pretty much raised in church, I know that a lot of the time “church” hasn’t got a lot to do with God. I’ve been a born-again Believer for 52 years and neither my husband nor I do church anymore. There is no better place for the enemy to infiltrate and, like you, I’ve also suffered harm from “religious” people in church. I’ve come to realize that some churches are very good, but MANY are not and many people in church are not Believers at all. I personally believe much of what we’re going through now is the precursor to a huge shift in the church where God is going to expose the “evil within” and where a true revival will happen where all people - in church and not - are going to see Who God really is, and it will be something that will turn organized “religion” on its ear. What we have now, in most churches, is not what Believers were called to. We’re seeing the hypocritical example of “church” in our leaders today: Biden making a spectacle of going to church like that somehow sanctifies him, and Nancy Pelosi demanding communion in spite of her support of abortion. Rest assured she is bringing damnation on herself by taking the Sacraments when she is blatantly in opposition to the Word of God. She, too, thinks “church” (or especially being Catholic) will save her. It won’t.
