I don't understand Emotional Freedom Technique but I tried it once and it worked for back pain

I don't go for the "I accept myself" affirmations because I wasn't rejecting myself to begin with...that wasn't the problem

Regular positive affirmations too often equate to LYING: saying this positive thing that you know isn't true but by saying it over and over you're supposed to make yourself believe it is true. So all the gurus say to state your affirmations as if you already have whatever it is you want.

The workaround I learned from one EFT vid was instead to say "I now CHOOSE to..." etc. It's an affirmations game changer.

I now choose to feel happy and free of pain, I now choose to do things on time instead of procrastinate, etc. Because in that moment, it's TRUE: I AM choosing that. It doesn't make my brain react with "Quit lying to yourself; you know you aren't already free of pain, in that new job, new relationship, etc."
