Alright, so in your world, how does such a company "reform as a private entity" when all their plants would be raided ASAP by desperate people looking for resources during the collapse you're suggesting? And most of their employees undoubtedly killed in the process as well. Those are VERY specialized jobs that are vital to basic infrastructure.
