Because we humans are both spirit and flesh. We interact with both the spiritual realms and the physical realms. The only reason why we (generally speaking) don't interact clearly and consciously with all the spiritual realms is because the Fall (sin) destroys the capacity of our spiritual senses.

We have 5 physical sense and 5 spiritual senses, but only half of this set is functioning correctly.
