This evening's Signal chat with a buddy:
So on my end my radar detector just got me out of a LASER ticket.
Oh nice! Worth every penny then.
I need to get one again.
The guy was stupid. I was leading the pack, going about 40 in a 35, still accelerating though but not on it or anything, laser went off which I usually ignore because it's usually false alarm from someone's LED lights or something.
But it kept going off so I went "huh this looks like something" so I eased off to 40 even and when I saw him (a "Traffic Investigations" pickup of all things) I let off even more.
Drove past, nothing happened. If he'd been smart and waited to shoot instead of just hammering the whole pack like that I would have been instant burned toast.
If you get one I'd still recommend a V1. The arrows are damn handy.
Edit - footnote - not part of original chat:
One thing of note, the cop was obviously a fuckin amateur. If he knew how to ambush people instead of just blowing his wad he probably would have gotten me.
