I believe the purpose of general chat is to comment about non Q related content. I see general chat as like minded community that wants to connect with their peers. It can be serious topics or BS. It's not like there's not enough post that might be "on topic" we can post on. I personally like it because it's a stress reliever and I like learning people's personalities and about their daily lives. I've binged Facebook and instagram many years ago getting zero connection to people I actually know in real life. I feel like I know many here better than my friends I grew up knowing or new friends.
