I would think that could have been one of the major reasons he was removed from office...especially since there were illegal operations going on in the intelligence community and later the bioweapons programs were reinstated. A lot of power and money in those military operations....you don't mess with the military industrial complex....

I had always heard Nixon was a stand up guy...paranoid and rough around the edges perhaps...but otherwise that is probably true...he just crossed the wrong people.
