The hypothesis is offered as an alternative [to Marxism/Socialism. that seeks to divide into haves and havenots, and then go after the haves] and states that the aim is to:
remake the badly needed institutions of everyday life through grass-roots organizations, trade unions, cooperatives, small businesses that serve neighborhood needs, schools, clinics, transport systems, and the like, so that they serve the common good.
The theory is one of hierarchy (some pigs are more important than others) vs. networking (see quote above).
This I have noticed in my local neck of the woods: An increase in interest in: Community get togethers with causes, like taxpayer's union, antivax, pro-farmer etc.; shooting range events; Darts tournaments; Pool tournaments; Gym memberships, etc..
There is also an increase in people using Facebook marketplace to run food stands, pet re-homes and helping newcomers with furniture and clothing.
However, networking has a down-side, which is an increase in gang activity. The same sort of thing (clubs - networking) but with a bad-ass, but brotherly image (patches and even colors) and some criminality attached. etc. In my town one gang is being displaced by a younger, other gang. The locals (Rugby Club lol) had the 'old' gang under control, but the 'new gang' is spreading a rash of theft and bullying charges around where they live, and following them around. Wearing a certain color, or riding a bike at night, can have what appears to be a racist attack. This sort of activity has cycles, attached to the state of the economy.
