Open an trading account with someone like Fidelity. Can do it all online. Then fund it by making a deposit via wire or ETF or linking an existing bank account and transferring some money into it. Once you have an account set up, buying stock is fairly easy as long as you know what stock symbol you want to obtain.
Funny, Last night I opened a rollover IRA and funded it with 100$ to trade with while waiting. So I purchased 4 shares of GME @ 21.50 AH and I'm at 102.84 today for a gain of 3.3% Took about 10 minutes to set up.
Quite the shock logging in this morning.

AFAIK If you are HODLing thru Fidelity, you do not need to DRS shares.
Periodically you will get a banner popup from Fidelity asking if you would like to earn additional income on the stocks you own by loaning them out. I always decline.
Sidenote: This news is hitting the financial websites and seems to have driven up share prices by 5$/share, (😊) unless there is other news I've missed.
