Anything he marks with an A - like A1a - those are Russian controlled. Anything he marks with a B are Ukrainian held cities.
If I'm reading it correctly that is. I'm a visual learner, so I much prefer maps, especially here since while I'm familiar with the locations of the major cities, I am not with the suburbs and outlying towns that are currently being contested.
DNR stands for "Donetskaya Narodnaya Respublika" in Russian, which translates to "Donetsk People's Republic" (DPR) in English. They're a pro-Russian militia in Ukraine. LNR/LPR are similar, just in Lugansk, as you stated. 🙂
