Tweets are still limited to a stupidly short character count. I will post something on Truth where I don't even hit it, then try same on Twitter and have to creatively edit a lot of the more nuanced stuff, explanatory phrases, tangential observations, etc out to make it fit. It's an interesting exercise in economy sometimes but they picked too low a limit - likely intentionally to keep things at the squirrel-attention-span level (I'd be interested in just how much went into deciding it - probably a lot because of this would be my theory).
I meant to add, I don't disagree though, just saying it could be a factor. So could deliberately keeping things remedial level like newspapers do to make sure everyone gets it, for that matter!
