Glenn Beck: ‘This Is What the Speaker Debate Is Really About’
“This is what the Speaker debate is really about,” conservative commentator Glenn Beck says in a three-minute video explaining why a group of 21 House Republicans are preventing Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) from being elected Speaker.
He was the first I ever saw to utterly clarify the left vs. right thing
Left = more govt CONTROL of the populace, whether it's "called" communist, socialist, fascist, islamic supremacist, monarchy, plutoligarchy, theocracy, authoritarian, democrat, etc. They're all the same net result for the People: Basically, it doesn't matter what STYLE of boot is on your throat,...that's leftism.
Right = more individual LIBERTY for the People
And, there's such a thing as too FAR right (which is basically zero govt, naked anarchy, complete lawlessness; nothing that republicans, libertarians or conservatives would ever advocate)
The Founders envisioned sharp limits placed on govt and maximum personal liberty for the People, within constraints of a few reasonable, sane laws to protect the innocent from the criminal. Almost all the way to the far right, but not quite.
They were right, and everybody else is wrong. :)
