Reminds me of the San Francisco I grew up in. I grew up in a lower middle class area and if there was a scream in the middle of the night, all the men came running out of their houses with various weapons in hand. Same if someone suspicious was seen lurking about - they were quickly confronted.

She is not her politics. She is much more than that! Tell her that's why there is that saying about never talking about religion or politics in polite company - people get emotional and say ignorant things.
Remind her of her qualities that make people love and respect her. Your mom is her own person and thinks for herself - a very admirable quality!
Those family members sound like people who parrot thoughts vs formulating their own thoughts and opinions. She should feel sorry for them.

Criminal case is moving forward. Arraignment is in a week. Where I live there are Victims Advocates who attend all proceedings with the victim. So I had my advocate plus two trainees with me at the preliminary hearing.
I just need prayers for my healing (I still don't have use of my dominant wrist/hand/fingers) and prayers for my daughter's safety.

The ER where I was sent a solitary x-ray tech to x-ray my dislocated and smashed wrist. Tech asked me to hold the plate behind the wrist. My other arm had all kinds of things attached to it (BP monitor, IV, etc) Fortunately the police officer who was there to find out the extent of my injuries volunteered to help the tech. I have a friend who is a police officer in another state and he said he wouldn't have offered. Would have just talked to the doctors to get info for his report then left. My friend's not a bad guy. He and his wife have been helping me and came to the prelim hearing with me and will attend the trial.
I have to admit, I thought about calling 9-1-1 to get those paramedics back!
You had a TV in the ER? I was in excruciating pain and would have loved a distraction! I had to wait (an hour?) for an orthopedist to come out of surgery before I get could orders for pain meds (Pro Tip: when the paramedics in the ambulance tell you "It's an open bar so ask and you shall receive!" Don't be a stoic! Take it!!)
P.S. Are you doing better?
Has to be much higher! I received three ballots in my name at my address. I voted in person and did not have to surrender my absentee ballots. How many people voted using the multiple ballots they received AND voted in person? I only voted once since I know right from wrong.
