Trust me, these places are a great way to get clean. When you see how dispicable other addicts are, when you see them act beligerant, hop around, yell, and dance, annoy the crap out of you, and you see them physically deteriorate, it makes you not want to go. When you can't pass out or fall asleep without your pockets being picked clean, then you can't go.
The nail in the coffin for me was the covid restrictions. I just couldn't deal with the covid restrictions. I would go to a safe injection site to relax and take a load off, covid restrictions were a real buzz kill.
All my decent drug using friends are dead. My honest drug dealers moved away and quit dealing. All that was left in the drug scene were bad drugs, rip off counts, and scumbags. I said, "to hell with it all."
