It sounds like you are not going to get anywhere with the military angle. It seems he is out of the military? If that is the case, I would salvage the conversation to ensure, as a citizen, he would make the right decision for his family and does not believe an experimental vaccine should be compelled upon his loved ones'.

Matt Gaetz seem to be completely against it and says McCarthy will renege on his promises. MTG, from repeated interviews, explained if republicans didn't vote for McCarthy the Dems would take advantage of the division and put in their own candidate/RINO. From my understanding, her plea is a lesser of two evils type choice.

I can't say they hate him, but I agree there is a lack of respect. I believe you can disagree and still respect someone, but they already implied he was selfish and an idiot (i.e. “don’t you care about the health and well-being of others" and “It’s the most researched and studied vaccine in the history of medicines”).

If they were truly good friends and respected you, wouldn't their first comments to you is why. I think it is a great opportunity to move on.

May I ask what was it that made them turn? And how much of the truth do they know? Are they on the Trump train? Thanks for sharing your story!
