Well, sure, but look into the "Carrington event". Such a thing could happen without much warning (a few days at most). I think you can understand the consequences nowadays would be a lot more severe. This is why you need to keep a cash reserve at home.

The moon rotates. It rotates at the same speed as it traverses along its orbit.

Gravity is caused by mass deforming space-time.

Read a science book. Please.

I have worked on WXR data from 2008 to about 2015. These are caused by spurious radio sources.

The pointy end of the line is where the weather radar is located. The thicker end is in the direction where the radio source is.

If you look at weather radars in Central Europe (worked on them), you will see a lot of strong (illegal) wifi sources coming from Hungary.

I was working on software to specifically filter out such sources. These signals do not correspond to any weather, they are just radio sources other than the weather radar.

Okay, so all they showed was two insect species. One produces a chemical that is used to make chocolate shiny. The other is used to produce a red color.

These products have literally been used for a hundred years, if not longer.

Wake me up when they start using other insect products.

The mRNA in the vaccines us made not with the normal amino acids. It is modRNA exactly because otherwise it would deteriorate very quickly.

I am all for their suicides. Nothing of value would be lost and the reduction in CO2 would be worth it.

Does anyone know what plane type that is? It has a Sukhoi-type nose, but a Mig-23 cockpit. Four intakes and yet only one vertical tail surface.

I work as a scientist. My coworker, also a scientist, is triple vaxxed.

I got him to question his beliefs by letting him explain to me how you would test a medicine. He was correct in his explanation, including a control group and a placebo group.

Then I asked him what the placebo for a vaccine should be. Then I told him to look up what is actually used as a placebo.

He was surprised and learned something that day.

There is nothing to explain. It just shows you do not understand either Q or atheism.

You do not believe in the 800+ gods people believe or used to believe in. I just believe in one less than you.

Does that mean I want a shitty economy? No. Does that mean I want pedos in power? No. Does this mean I want to tell you what to do, say or believe? No.

I am for personal freedom.100%. I live by the Golden Rule, as you do. In fact, most people do.

Interesting. The ellipse connecting the two circles is the path a spacecraft travels when it does a "Hohmann transfer". The center dot would be the sun. The top dot would be earth. The bottom dot would be a planet or object further out. Could be Mars.

Have we lost all humor and wonderment?

I am sorry. I will entertain myself in private from now on.

Jeez, people. Lighten up.

People think it is cool and "certainly not a coincidence" when a 17 pops up in a prime number that also displays as the X logo, then someone proves how easy it really is to generate such images and all of a sudden, people stop seeing the humor in it.

I just don't get it.

The code is trivial. The main issue potentially is in sympy. I use the function "isprime()" to determine if a number is a prime. It is highly optimized and uses all the tricks as it is a module that is developed and maintained by people who work in number theory (I do not).

From the documentation of sympy:

"Test if n is a prime number (True) or not (False). For n < 2^64 the answer is definitive; larger n values have a small probability of actually being pseudoprimes.

Negative numbers (e.g. -2) are not considered prime.

The first step is looking for trivial factors, which if found enables a quick return. Next, if the sieve is large enough, use bisection search on the sieve. For small numbers, a set of deterministic Miller-Rabin tests are performed with bases that are known to have no counterexamples in their range. Finally if the number is larger than 2^64, a strong BPSW test is performed. While this is a probable prime test and we believe counterexamples exist, there are no known counterexamples."

I am not sure how the BPSW test works and to be honest, I am not really interested in digging into number theory for a few weeks, just for this small "project" (if I can call it that at all).

Whatever the case, I am not going to pretend I could write a better test for a number to determine if it is prime than people who work with this stuff every day.

There's also the question of how to prove a number is prime and not a pseudo-prime number. How would one present such a proof? Do I just output all prime numbers up until the square root of the number I am displaying as an image? Because that would be the official test. Any number is a prime number until it is proven it can be factorized by any of the primes up the the prime number right before the square root of the original number.

Okay, suppose I do that. I store one bit for every number up to the square root of my number to indicate it is a prime number or not. That would take 10^900 bits for a single 1800 digit prime number. 10^900 bits is a bit more than 10^899 bytes. If I turn this into kilobytes, I take another 3 orders of magnitude off (1000 vs 1024). So turning it into terabytes, I can take off 3+3+3+3 = 12 orders of magnitude.

I am not sure I have 10^877 TB of storage. I am not sure I could compress this data to send it over the internet and I am not sure you could store it locally and then I am pretty sure you could never look through all this data before the universe ends xD

Sure. The largest prime number ever found has almost 25 million digits. 1,800 digits is PEANUTS.

I have a pretty EPYC CPU ;-)

You are severely overestimating what it takes to determine if a number is prime or not. There are very quick methods to do this. On my CPU it takes about a minute to do for a ~10,000 digit number.

Just copy the number and use one of those libraries in either Python or C++; you will find the number is a prime.

It took all night, but I found three prime numbers that clearly display Pepe when you display their digits in a 100x100 matrix.

Here is one:

45 is a good idea. Had not thought of that. Once the current run is done, I will implement that.

Yeah, I agree. The algorithm behind it must be very similar. Brute force. Not much else.

We need a translator for "hate speech" to "obfuscated truth". I got in trouble on YouTube every week or so (24 hour bans) for using certain words. Instead of those words I now write "female canine", "bovine excrement" etc.

I want an Android keyboard that automatically replaces such terms with their obfuscated counterparts. It could also work with simple character replacement. B1tch. Bu11sh1t. Etc.

Getting the "autism for the win" tag made me laugh so hard, because I actually have "assburgers" (Aspergers) or what they call "high functioning autism" nowadays.

No worries. I have started 32 threads for a 100x100 image now. 10,000 digits. Suck on that, Elon! xD I hope it will finish before midnight here.

I have such a deep love for programming (technically Python is scripting). It relaxes me beyond words. My dad intoduced me to AmigaBasic in the early 80s and I was hooked immediately. It is what saved my life. I could not hold down any other job than writing code, to be perfectly honest.
