Welp there it is

117

I spent the last 3 and 1/2 days away from home. Spent a substantial wad to go between hotel, meals, and paying for the convention itself.

First night was Thursday with Kash Patel as a speaker. He was very down to earth. And his speech was awesome. His Q and A was great too. He stayed around with convention people to converse and had a beer. I did not stay long, but did get a picture with him. I was tired from traveling and needed to get settled into my room

My Friday morning session was attending a break out group on Election Integrity. There were 4 speakers there. Two lawyers, one in charge of National Elections for Trump who said he’s still dealing with the repercussions of the 2020 election. One was a woman who is on the Board of Elections In Wake county who will be raised up to the State BOE come this Fall. She was introduced as knowing the insides and out of election law. The last guy (I didn’t catch his name) but he seemed to be involved in bringing the NC model of election integrity to other states. This will be in place for this Fall’s election. He mentioned that NC’s handling of the 2020 election is now the model for many other states. We had 34% of the election integrity resources enacted here in 2020 and it prevented the state from being stolen for Trump.

For those that don’t know the Republican Party was shut down from contesting any elections for 40 years due to something the GOP did in NJ. So finally a judge lifted that agreement and it’s only been since 2020 that something could be done about the Dems cheating. So now the GOP is more actively engaged in election integrity.

Friday afternoon was the first meeting of delegates from 2-5. The opening started with a count of delegates who had already checked in based on every county so they would know quorum. They did this the opening of every session.

Then business began reviewing changes a prior state committee had already made on the NC GOP State platform. Red and blue highlights showed new info and changes. Individual delegates spoke to changes and it was asked if the final copy we voted on could be submitted to all GOP elected officials in our state house and senate, US congressman and Senators and all our Council of State Elected officials. It was voted in and two members volunteered to pay for the completed hard copies and for them to be delivered.

Next we worked through changes made to the Plan of Organization. Sections. They were discussed and voted on. All reports will be placed on the NCGOP website.

We finished all but three sections of the report and recessed at 5 pm.

5:30 pm was a VIP event I attended (paid extra for). Alcoholic drinks and appetizers were provided. I met my state assembly man there who happened to be in attendance and also Eric and Lara Trump came in and spoke with us from a stage.
They also spoke at the dinner I attended and Eric dialed his dad for him to speak with us by phone. Trump spoke at least 10 minutes.

That evening I ended up hanging out with a different NC assemblyman (not from my county) and several others I met in his group while at dinner and the VIP meeting. We met with Hal Weatherman (GOP Lt Governor candidate) at his reception. Then we cruised the 12th floor and found open houses for the following: College Republicans, Republican Women’s group, and even went to see Mark Robinson (unfortunately he was in another room meeting with another group so we left without getting pictures with him).

Saturday there were two working sessions for delegates. The am we finished the three remaining sections of the Plan of Organization rewrites. And began to take up the resolutions.

Resolutions are taken up from delegates who want these presented to the state GOP to be voted upon. These are near and dear to delegates hearts. It is their way of being heard. Unfortunately, not all the resolutions are heard bc of time limitations. I attended this event just so I could vote on the Medical Freedom Resolution. It was taken from a number of districts. 9 districts out of 14 were represented in this resolution who had wanted this but all had different versions. along with multiple county Republican parties.

They put this resolution dead last to be discussed for a reason. The woman I know who spent time putting this together to merge all the districts medical freedom resolutions with someone else was told from someone in the know that our state GOP did not want to vote on this resolution and the powers that be in charge were to slow walk it so it wouldn’t be voted on by the delegates at the convention.

This resolution and several resolutions that were to be presented from the floor were left after someone said to vote on a group of resolutions and to separate this one out from the group along with two others. After we voted on the less controversial resolutions. Someone brought up that we should move on to voting in our State committee man and woman. And asked what happened if we ran out of time and didn’t have these voted in before our session ended. The chair said the incumbents would just return again. BC delegates had a fiasco with a machine they wanted paper ballots this year.

But even before this was accomplished the state committee presented their list of National Delegates. Each district already voted on three to represent them at our district conventions. (There were also three alternated and two alternates to the alternates). This state committee list included politicians (Ted Budd, Mark Robinson etc. and no Tom Tillis was not asked), big donors from the state and other muckety mucks who they placed on the list. Another list of names were selected for the electoral college and their alternates. As delegates we could not vote on this list. Only the chair could vote on this list. But the time taken to discuss these took too long IMHO bc we couldn’t even vote on them.

Then the committeemen and women were introduced. It took the remaining time to vote on them individually (when they could have done these on one ballot) with each county standing up and reporting their counts . This all happens after these were nominated by another member and each person got to speak. Two men and two women were vying for the spot. In spite of all the hoopla the incumbents were voted back in. (And to think if we hadn’t have even voted on them they still could have gone). In the meantime the remaining resolutions bit the dust. All part of the plan

Since I am old and have some health issues I won’t be returning. The majority of delegates were over 55. Some have been attending for years. Was this because of the cost? The time involved? Who knows? But we definitely need more young people to get involved in this party

The best part was hearing all the speeches from elected officials and those running for office during the meals. I got to meet many of them personally.

Also lots of tables set up in the registration area with Right to Life groups, Blacks for Trump, Fredrick Douglas groups, all kinds of MAGA apparel etc. Faith and Freedom Coalition, political candidate booths and county groups selling products.

Yesterday lunch got introduced to our Justice candidates

This am we had the Faith and Freedom Coalition at breakfast.

Their last meeting today after breakfast was for those delegates who will be attending the National Convention. So I left.

I was a chosen delegate. So there is a distinct possibility I will meet many of the following people who are key note speakers (and possibly others) who attend as I paid extra to attend 2 VIP events: Kash Patel, Lara and Eric Trump, Vivek Ramaswamy, Mark Robinson, Michael Whatley, and Doug Borgum (ND Governor).

I’m most interested in meeting with Kash but not sure he’ll be around at the VIP events since he’s a keynote speaker on Thursday evening when there are none.

If you were to meet any of the above people there at the event what would you ask them?

Just trying to plan ahead and hoping to get lots of pictures!

I went to my local Republican County Convention and they asked if I wanted to go to the District and the State GOP Conventions as a delegate. Apparently, we get assigned so many delegates for the District and State Conventions based on the number of registered Repubicans in our County. BC we never have as many people who want to go or sign up anyone who wants to go can go as long as they are Registered as a Republican in the County.

I went to the District Convention a couple of weeks ago. It was only a day but It was interesting, I got to vote for the Electoral College rep from our district and her alternate. Then voted for 3 Delegates to go to the National Convention. From that list they went and selected three alternates and 2 alternates to the alternates.

I did my best to vote only for America First Candidates and those who outwardly said they supported Trump. One guy came to our table and said he was a Chris Christie supporter. I didn't vote for him but he ended up getting in as the last alternate.

Anyway, I was happy with the ones who did make it.

We also voted on a resolution for health freedom. Against the mask and vax mandates. I was happy to vote for it. It now goes on to the state. If it passes there it will be taken up by our state legislature. I wanted to go just to vote for this!

I just signed up for the NC GOP State Convenction. So far Lara Trump and Vivek Ramaswamy will be keynote speakers. But they only recently added Eric Trump, Kash Patel and Michael Whatley to the number who will be attending, too.

It was a big chunk of change for me to go since it lasts 4 days and 3 nights. I also signed up for VIP events (extra moola of course) but I did so bc I want to meet Lara, Eric and Kash in particular and think they will be attending these events, One can only hope Trump also appears!

I get to vote for our new NC State GOP Chair. Hoping I can do my homework before I get there.

I think it will be my one and only time to go. Im old as dirt. But if I had to go this was the year to do it. And now I can't wait to go.

And all after school activities are cancelled. FWIW I live in NC where the eclipse will only be partial.

There was a full eclipse when I was a kid once. We were told about it in school and told not to look at the sun. We made boxes with holes so we could view it backwards by seeing the light reflected in the box.

What am I missing here? What are the safety reasons for closing school?

Having just checked out yesterday’s voting results here in NC it dawned on me that there may have been a plan to keep any of the Libertarians from a presidential candidacy so they won’t hurt Trump’s run. As people believe the Libertarian vote tends to dilute Republican votes more than Democrat ones

It’s just a theory based on what I observed from working the polls here in NC. We only had one and only one unaffiliated voter who decided to vote Libertarian. I only know how he voted bc we only had one request for a Libertarian ballot.

I was the only Republican and a Judge in my precinct so I had to sign off on the printed out scanned ballot results from the DS2000 machine that voters feed their paper ballots into. We then have to copy the results again to a report file for the county. We turn these both into the county along with the computer disk so they can download the results into the state computers

So this guy voted no preference for the Libertarian presidential candidates on the ballot. At first I thought he didn’t know what he was doing. But after looking at the Liberterian presidential results here in NC I found the biggest results for the Libertarian Presidential candidates was over 40% for a non preferred candidate. So just like what people did to Nikki Haley in New Mexico the non preferred candidate won here in NC. .

Here’s a link to the state results in my state of NC so you can see for yourself: https://er.ncsbe.gov/?election_dt=03/05/2024&county_id=0&office=FED&contest=0

What do you see in your states for the results for Libertarian Presidential Candidates?

I have been working at an early one stop voting poll station in NC fairly frequently since the first day the polls were open a week ago today.

They asked me to work extra time because we don’t have as many Republican poll workers. Seems we have quite a few Democrats who work the polls and independents these days instead.

We need one Republican and one Democrat working at the ballot stations and at least one of each to work the check in table thus I will be working more hours than other party affiliations.

This is also the first time NC requires an ID to vote. It is used as verification after the person states their name and address verbally.

From what have observed so far the registered Republicans are coming out 3-1 to Democrats to vote.

Independents here can select the ballot they wish to vote on. We have three potential ballots they can choose: Republican, Democrat or Libertarian. So far I have seen all but one independent voter select the Republican ballot. Only one selected a Democrat Ballot. No one has voted as a Libertarian at least on my shift.

There are two possible votes for POTUS on the Democrat ballot. Biden and None of the Above. (I would bust a gut if he ended up taking second place to none of the above).

We have another week of early voting in only a couple places in our county. On Tuesday, March 5th all the precincts are open and all ballots will be counted that night. (No absentee ballots will be counted after 7:30 pm that night).

Being that so many Democrats typically come out to vote early and not so much on Election Day I am wondering why that may be:

A) They don’t care about voting for Biden now as he’s the only one on the ballot for POTUs. And they’re gonna wait until the Fall to vote.

B) They really don’t care to vote any more. They are sick of Biden and the rest of their party. There’s no motivation to vote.

C They are all voting absentee ballot again.

D). They are waiting to vote for Trump in n the Fall.

PS know there are other state and county positions on the ballot where they can make their voices heard. But apparently these aren’t enough to get them to vote.

I just got a text from my daughter. She is my only child. She lives 10 hours away. She had her first mammogram and they now want to give her an ultrasound after finding something in her breast.

She was triple vaxxed bc she worked at a University and it was required to stay employed. She is not married so even though we asked her not to take the jab she said she had to take it or she’d be out of work.
I even begged her not to take the 3rd booster bc it wasn’t required but she did it anyway.

I know the chances are it is benign. Please pray that it is so. Thank you!

Was messaging my cousin who is a retired pharmacist from Pfizer. He retired in 2017. I needed his brother’s new address. I didn’t talk with him much since jabs came out because he was pushing the COVID jabs on everyone he spoke with.

He said a lot of people he worked with just got layed off.

Here’s his message:

Texting with my Pfizer friends today. Massive layoffs at PFE NYHQ. My officemate Phil, a senior director, was let go after 35+ years earlier in 2023, and this week Michael got his walking papers after 25 years with Pfizer. Stephen is holding on for now despite heavy losses in his department. Now everyone I worked with from 2007-2017 is gone.

I asked him what happened to all the money Pfizer made from the COVID shots that were given out. Didn’t the government pay them?

And I got no answer

In mid-May I fractured my L4 verterbrae. I have had Osteopenia/Osteoporosis for almost 20 years. I ended up having the verterbrae collapse and now am facing major surgery in two weeks. Both my fall and the collapse were probably because my bone density was not good.

It will be a two day surgery on Sept 27th and Sept 28th. I am scheduled to have the verterbrae removed with a cage fusion placed from L2 to S1.

I have never broken any bones before nor have I ever had any major surgery. I am 70 years old. I was a very active person before falling, doing three minute planks exercising daily with women much younger than I am, riding my bike and doing all my own landscaping/gardening. So the last 4 months walking with a walker and now a cane has been very hard on my psyche.

I am not jabbed but signed a release to get a transfusion because my husband who is also not jabbed insisted I do so. Still I let my surgeon know I am not comfortable with a transfusion. Please pray it will NOT be needed.

In the meantime, I am now considered at high risk for fractures and am giving myself injections of bone protein (currently on a sample of tymolos but will be on forteo after the script is approved).

As a believer I do not fear death. However, I do not wish to end up with any permanent pain or disability. Nor do I wish to have this surgery fail and have to go back in for more surgery. I read up on lumbar spinal fusions and discovered there is a 50% failure rate.

So please pray I make it through surgery without any blood transfusions. That I have a successful surgery and heal up properly.

Thanks in advance to all you prayer warriors!

Did you know that 3 out of our first 5 Presidents died on July 4th?

Jefferson and Adams both died on the same day. They both died on the 50th Anniversary of the signing of the declaration.

Jefferson died in the morning. Adams died at 6 pm during a thunderstorm. The last thing Adams said was “Jefferson survives”.

5 years later James Monroe died on July 4th.
