Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evolving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
My oldest boy is about to turn 18, is pretty awake and has been working hard to improve his health. He lost 30 lbs since last summer, plays 3 school sports and just committed to the honors program (with a large scholarship) at a college he was really interested in. He's also been recruited by their Rugby team to play for them this fall.
He scans the label on everything he eats and avoids garbage food like the plague. If all his friends go to McDonald's, he'll only drink their water.
He's an anxious guy and has a bad case of FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out). He tends to get depressed when the work starts piling up as he becomes overwhelmed.
I bought a 500mg bottle of Reishi Mushroom extract. I'm not an anxious guy, so I didn't see much change as I wanted to test the pills myself for a couple weeks. I've since given them to him and he usually pops one in the morning before heading off to the most stressful and uncomfortable environment he knows...school. He says the mushroom pills have been helping him relax and get through school, so I'll probably order some more.
The next problem he wants to attack is his inability to get up in the morning and get himself off to school. He's definitely not a morning person and could sleep 10 hours a day if we let him.
He wants to try Sea Moss as he's read that it helps the body detoxify. Nobody in this house got the covid shots, but our kids did follow the regular pediatric schedule of poisons before we woke up to the medical tyranny in 2020. I assume these shots contribute to his anxiety and need for a lot of sleep. Fortunately, my other two boys don't have this same problem (at least not yet).
TLDR: Has anyone tried Sea Moss and noticed any improvements or benefits to what was ailing them?
The reason why he sleeps a lot and has a hard time waking up could be because he's still growing, or sugar high and low, or his diet involves not eating for a long period of time and then eat and the body is preserving energy by making him sleep more..
I've been on ketosis for 6 months and since then I've woken up right away every morning, no more dragging my butt if you know what I mean. I have lots of energy and much calmer now. Pretty much got rid of my anxiety without any pills. I also never took any medications whatsoever..only ivermectin once in awhile.
Thank you.
Are you fasting to initiate ketosis, or is it a high protein diet that gets the body to do that?
I fasted 17 hours to kickstart the ketosis and then started just eating meat, eggs, bacon, fish, yeah basically protein diet. I suggest getting the urine strip keto test on amazon for $10 to test if you're in ketosis, and then to maintain it, as long as you can limit to 50 grams of sugar/carbs, you should stay in ketosis.
50 grams of carbs/sugar is like 2 spoons of rice or this is the one from Google:
Bread: Around 2 to 3 slices of white or whole wheat bread typically contain around 50g of carbohydrates. Oats: Approximately 50g of dry oats (about 1/2 cup) provides around 50g of carbohydrates. Fruits: Consuming around 2 medium-sized bananas or 3 medium-sized apples can give you close to 50g of carbohydrates.
This is one of my fav channels explaining the keto-carnivore diet and how many lives have been saved and pills and medical conditions cured. There are many others.. just gotta watch all the videos and then try and see what works for you.

This is great info. Thank you very much.
I'll research and share with him. Maybe I'll start him on Ivermectin first in case he has any hungry parasites trying to take over his gut.
God Bless and good luck of your Keto journey!
