I posted this earlier, but am reposting with a catchier title. The TLDR: The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) receives it's funding from the Federal Reserve, not congress. The Supreme Court deemed that it's legal to fund this way.

From: https://api.neonemails.com/emails/content/W2SgVUeIucJezpq0cZ7wn80_cWsqI92Yz15ncUA4ddI=

This morning, the Supreme Court preserved the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) by upholding the agency’s funding mechanism as constitutional in a 7-2 vote.

The justices’ decision caps a battle that marked the biggest legal threat to the CFPB since it was established in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis to crack down on predatory lending and enforce consumer protection laws.

Two lender trade associations, backed by business groups and all the nation’s Republican state attorneys general, contended the agency’s funding from the Federal Reserve violates Congress’s power of the purse. Writing for the majority, Justice Clarence Thomas rejected that argument and sided with the Biden administration. Conservative justices Samuel Alito and Neil Gorsuch dissented, writing that since the “earliest days” of the nation, Congress’s power of the purse has been its most “complete and effectual weapon.”

Established as part of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street reform law, lawmakers looked to insulate the CFPB by creating a funding mechanism outside Congress’s annual appropriations process. Republicans have long targeted the independent agency, lamenting that lawmakers have little control over it. Former House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and 132 Republican members of Congress filed briefs backing the challengers.

The high court acknowledged that the CFPB is “different” than other agencies but determined its method of drawing funds from the Federal Reserve System that its director has deemed “reasonably necessary to carry out” is constitutional.

55-minutes (the first 4 minutes are ads, last few minutes credits, so about 45-minutes of content)

My TLDW:

He starts by explaining that patents can be seized by the government if they “are important for national security.”

Then he talks about a couple of inventors who invented cars that could run on literal gas vapors, making mileage like 200 miles a gallon (first one was over 100 years ago, I think the second one was sixties?). Then a guy who invented a car that ran on water (early 70s). Then some people who created machines that could generate energy out of the atmosphere, which is basically unlimited free energy (one of them in the 60s).

All these people had their patents seized, labs broken into and all their material stolen and were either financially/professionally ruined or killed (or both).

Interestingly, one guy re-patented all these things with the US military as the owner of the patents, so it appears that the military has stolen these patents and are utilizing these technologies while keeping them from the public.

He goes on to talk about the serious flaws with the current green energy “solutions” being touted.

He shows that there never was an energy shortage, it was a control tool and that the green energy “solutions” are simply measures that will ensure that powerful people stay in power.

This is a fascinating video from 1986. It has me now re-thinking everything I thought I knew about nuclear power.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8VvGw1tkT1Q

Video is 48-minutes. My TLDW:

Galen Winsor is a nuclear physicist who began his work in 1947. Galen is renowned; he worked at, and helped design, nuclear power plants in Hanford, WA; Oak Ridge, TN; Morris, IL, San Jose, CA; Wimington, NJ. Among his positions of expertise he was in charge of measuring and controlling the nuclear fuel inventory and storage. He shows that fear of radiation has been exaggerated to scare people … so a few powerful people can maintain total control of the world’s most valuable power resource. Filmed by Ben Williams in 1986.

He says that there is no such thing as “nuclear waste” because the plutonium is recyclable. He also says plutonium and uranium not nearly as dangerous as advertised. He even eats a piece of radioactive material on camera!

He alleges that the lies about the danger of nuclear are designed to scam energy customers to pay extra fees to the government for special “housing” while the plant is in service, and then happily relinquish ownership of the “waste” to the government. He hints that the government is essentially stealing valuable assets from its rightful owners, who are the consumers who paid to have the material refined for their electrical grids.

He alleges the nuclear “waste” isn’t really buried, that they are empty containers (or maybe contain evidence of crimes, such as dead bodies) and the real plutonium is stolen by bad actors who understand the tremendous value (he indicated mafia). He says another bonus of the “waste” being illegal to dig up is that no one will ever try to gather the evidence that was buried down there.

He says the value of the nuclear “waste” is more than the national debt (this video was made while Reagan was president). He claims the insurance industry also knows and turns a blind eye because they can charge nuclear power customers enormous amounts of extra premiums to ensure the plants.

He claims the three-mile island nuclear disaster wasn’t an accident — 2 months prior to the plant opening, they were warned the equipment was set up wrong and would cause issues within a year, yet they knowingly moved forward and the “accident” happened exactly one year after they opened. He said they also distorted the info to make the “accident" look worse than it was (ie saying it was running at over 4,000 degrees, in a tone that indicated it was abnormally hot when it is the normal running temp, etc). Shutting down nuclear plants for “safety concerns” also jacks up prices to consumers and pushes other types of power consumption.

He thinks there should be a small, locally run nuclear reactor every 10 blocks that power individual neighborhoods = energy independence for each neighborhood. He says that these little reactors can be mass-produced cheaply, but the federal energy cartel will never go for it because they want to set the price, availability and whether you can hook on to it (power, domain and control).

Side note: Relatively early on in the video, he claimed that after WW2, the United States gave Russia the plans to build their own nuclear weapons along with the materials to do so. My thought on that was “All wars are bankers wars. The bankers fund both sides.” In this case, the Powers that Be made sure that both sides had nuclear weapons in order ensure that we all live in perpetual fear of nuclear war.

From Law Enforcement Today on 12-15-2023: https://lawenforcementtoday.com/no-this-isnt-satire-newly-sworn-los-angeles-police-officers-daca-recipients-who-entered-us-illegally

...people who entered the country illegally will be on the streets of LA enforcing the law. No, this is not satire from the Babylon Bee.

Worse yet, the group of DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) LAPD recruits are not, by virtue of their undocumented status, permitted to carry their city-issued firearms when they are off-duty, NBC Los Angeles reports.

Under federal law, DACA aliens are prohibited from possessing either guns or ammunition, but the LAPD has found a workaround for that little problem. They will simply consider off-duty hours part of the definition of “performance of their official duties or other law enforcement purpose,” which will allow these individuals to carry their issued firearms off-duty, a new police policy memo reads...

...In September 2022, the California state senate removed the requirement that California police officers must be U.S. citizens under Senate Bill 960. The only requirement is that officers be “legally authorized to work in the United States.”...

...In April, Colorado, vying to be “California lite,” passed similar legislation that allows DACA recipients to become police officers and possess firearms in the course of their duty.

DACA was signed into law by leftist President Barack Obama in 2012 and provides protection from deportation for some 600,000 people who were brought to the U.S. without legal status (illegally) before the age of 16 and who’ve lived in the country continuously since 2007. However, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security says that DACA is “not itself a type of legal residency.”

From Law Enforcement Today: https://lawenforcementtoday.com/the-un-laundering-us-taxpayer-money-is-funding-our-demise-the-invasion-at-the-southern-border

...The New York Post recently published a piece reporting the UN’s release of the 2024 “Inter-Agency Coordination Platform for Refugees and Migrants from Venezuela (otherwise known as R4V for short), which outlines a $1.6 billion outlay from the UN to 17 Latin American countries.

That document, the article notes, confirmed that the United Nations, along with 248 identified non-governmental organizations (NGOs), hands out debit cards to illegal aliens, which American taxpayers primarily fund.

The title of R4V is misleading, however, giving the impression that the funding is only for Venezuelans. Todd Bensman, the author of the Post article, draws attention to the document’s fine print (footnote on page 14 and a paragraph on page 43) that notes the money goes to “all nationalities” and “multiple other nationalities.”

In that document–in black and white–it specifically says that the UN and sundry NGOs are indeed funding the illegal alien invasion at our southern border, which is indisputable for so-called “fact checkers.”

The UN and its partners in crime are committed to spending at least $372 million in “Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA)” and “Multipurpose Cash Assistance (MCA)” to over half a million illegal aliens (624,300 in total) expected to make the trek to the United States this year.

Most of the money comes in the form of pre-paid, rechargeable debit cards. However, some are given in the form of “cash in envelopes,” bank transfers, and mobile transfers that those heading to the US can spend in any manner they wish.

The UN report explains the handouts have “taken on increasing importance” in order to give the ever-increasing number of illegals “the flexibility to cover their expenses and needs they deem most urgent, increasing their dignity and autonomy.”

As a point of information, a 2023 report from the Council on Foreign Relations showed United States taxpayers gave the United Nations over $12 billion in 2021, a reversal of policies implemented by President Trump, who reduced funding to some UN agencies.

...In sum, the United Nations and many NGOs are money laundering US taxpayer money to fund our own invasion. It is far beyond time to shut off the spigot and stop funding the UN, which is hell-bent on destroying our country.

Sermons from 1992: Are the recent discoveries on the Planet Mars really monuments built by some other culture? Is the mile-wide "Face" a carefully crafted monument, or simply a natural aberration? Is there a link between the "pyramids" on Mars, and the Great Pyramid of Egypt? Has all this been described in the Bible?

Part One: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkrfj16SwCw

Part 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zRXW8PrkKwo&t=2s

My opinion: While part 1 is interesting, the first 40-minutes of part 2 is a review of part 1. If you are short on time, you can skip part 1.

The reason why I posted this is because of what he said in the last 15-minutes of part 2, which I think accurately predicted what is happening now with all the alien information coming out.

He said that in the end times, there will be a new world-wide religion. Missler thought that the new world religion will revolve around "aliens" in order to deceive us away from Christ, but I think that thanks to all the info that has come out about Project Blue Beam, we won't be dumb enough to fall for the alien invasion scam.

Back in 1992, no one ever saw transhumanism coming. I think transhumanism does qualify as a religion, and the recent world-wide push by the UN and companies such as Blackrock to force countries/corporations to adopt and push transhumanism qualifies it as the prophesied new world religion.

This woman is a sanitation engineer in Chicago. She realized that one of the EPA approved chemicals that they use as an alternative to chlorine for those who cannot tolerate chlorine (ie NICUs), called Fulton Chloride Blend, has amazing health benefits.

She has started selling it as a health hacking product. She said many other health products, ie ozone, have come from the water treatment world.

So "they" are poisoning our water with chlorine needlessly when "they" could be improving our health with other water treatment products.

First of All, thank you all for being prayer warriors for all of my big battles against government corruption. I am again asking for prayer for another battle.

On Wednesday, I will be giving a speech at the California income agency's board meeting. I recently exposed a bombshell -- a large percentage of the agency's executive staff are working unlawfully without an oath or a bond. A few months ago, I notified dozens of agency employees that they had been ordered to commit unlawful activities at the behest of people who had never sworn to uphold the laws, and let the employees know that I was pursuing consequences against each of them personally for these crimes. As far as I can tell, nothing came of that.

There will be a lot of people both within and outside the agency watching. Please pray that this bombshell being exposed forces the agency to reform itself. Please pray that they don't disconnect me (the meeting is virtual and they have disconnected me in the past), that I don't have any technical problems and that the agency doesn't do anything to retaliate (they have retaliated before).

For those wanting an update about the State Senators that I've caught without oaths and bonds (https://greatawakening.win/p/17rSscMqGI/need-advice--california-state-se/), I'll post that update in a few weeks. That update is giant, and due to a family emergency, I can't parse so much info right now.

Thank you again! I love you guys!

https://www.wnd.com/2023/11/san-diego-mayor-sued-anti-christian-retaliation/

A pastor in California has filed a lawsuit against San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria over Gloria's insistence that he be removed from the San Diego's Citizens Advisory Board on Police/Community Relations because of his belief in the Bible.

The case is on behalf of Dennis Hodges of the Church of Yeshua Ha Mashiach, and he had served on the commission since 2017.

But when he abstained from a vote condemning "transphobia," his fellow commissioners told him to leave, and eventually they "influenced" Gloria to veto Hodge's reappointment.

A report at the Washington Stand said the lawsuit charges, "This is an action for the unlawful discrimination and retaliation against Mr. Dennis Hodges, a devoted Christian pastor and public servant."

It charges the mayor "under the influence of several of Mr. Hodges’ fellow commissioners, retaliated and discriminated against Mr. Hodges for adhering to his religious beliefs regarding gender identity and transgenderism."

The report noted the commission voted in November 2021 on "a letter from the city of San Diego Human Relations Commissioner Tootie Thomas Regarding Ending Discrimination and Transphobia by Amplifying the Visibility and Voices of the Transgender Community."

The idea was to publicize a letter promoting the local government's plan to end "transphobia," that claim that those who do not approve of the transgender ideology somehow fear or hate it.

Hodges abstained, explaining, about transgenderism, "I love all people. I love transgenders as well. But to me, it’s an abomination to the eyes of God, so I don’t agree with it."

Other commissioners, the lawsuit charges, immediate began "a crusade to cancel a man for holding traditional, religious beliefs regarding the biological nature of a man and woman."

That scheme failed, but then Gloria vetoed Hodges's reappointment. He claimed the pastor made "repeated concerning public comments about LGBTQ people."

So the complaint now charges Gloria with making his decision "against Mr. Hodges solely based on his beliefs on human creation and transgenderism — issues that are unrelated to his role on the Advisory Board."

Hodges released a statement through his lawyers at Advocates for Faith and Freedom and said, "I am standing up for religious people nationwide who have been discriminated against solely because of their faith. What happened to me at the hands of our government should never happen to anyone else."

The complaint seeks damages and reinstatement.

Lawyer Julianne Fleischer told the Stand, "No government authority should be able to wield their authority to attack other public servants for holding traditional, biblical values."

Saturday, October 28, 2023 Contact: (916) 210-6000, [email protected] Secures administrative stay of dangerous district court decision in assault weapons ban challenge

OAKLAND — California Attorney General Rob Bonta issued the following statement in response to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals’ order granting an administrative stay of a district court decision invalidating the state’s assault weapons ban. As a result of the Ninth Circuit’s order, California’s ban on assault weapons remains in effect until further notice. The Ninth Circuit also expedited the appeal in this case and placed it on calendar for oral argument in December 2023.

“Weapons of war do not belong on our streets. We were once again reminded of this fact as we witnessed a mass shooter gun down dozens of people in Maine, killing 18 victims,” said Attorney General Bonta. “We must protect our communities from these dangerous weapons. We know that these restrictions work to prevent mass casualty events and save lives. It is no accident that California’s gun death rate is 43% lower than the rest of the nation — it is because of our lifesaving gun safety laws, such as the assault weapons ban. Today’s decision means that it remains unlawful to purchase, transfer, or possess assault weapons in California as we continue to defend the law on appeal and seek reversal of the dangerous and misguided district court decision that, if upheld, would put our communities at grave risk.”

The Ninth Circuit granted an administrative stay on the district court decision, after Attorney General Bonta argued that the district court’s application of the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Bruen is deeply flawed and ignores relevant historical laws. The Ninth Circuit decision stays a district court decision enjoining California’s decades-old assault weapons ban, the Assault Weapons Control Act. The Assault Weapons Control Act was initially passed in 1989 following two mass shootings, including one at a California school. The legislature strengthened those provisions in 2000. For the last three decades, California has restricted the manufacture, distribution, transportation, importation, sale, lending, and possession of firearms that qualify as “assault weapons” under California law. Those weapons have specific tactical enhancements or configurations that make the weapons more dangerous to the public and law enforcement and more susceptible to criminal misuse. Data reflect that assault weapons in general are used disproportionately in crime relative to their market presence, that they are used often to commit mass shootings, and that they inflict more numerous and more extensive injuries than other weapons. Assault weapons have been used in numerous horrific mass shootings throughout the country, including the mass shootings in Orlando in 2016, Sutherland Springs in 2017, Parkland in 2018, and Uvalde in 2022.

Attorney General Bonta stands with partners throughout the state to continue tackling the issue of gun violence strategically and aggressively by:

Defending California's common sense gun safety laws, including by obtaining a stay of an order enjoining California's restrictions on large-capacity magazines. Educating the public on gun violence prevention through the Office of Gun Violence Prevention, including through the first-ever data report issued by the office to provide a robust review of gun violence data in California and throughout the U.S. and to help guide policy and strategy discussions related to reducing gun violence. Advocating for gun laws including by sponsoring Assembly Bill 1594 to increase accountability for the firearm industry, working to strengthen federal laws to protect the public from ghost guns, and successfully defending California’s laws to prevent gun violence. Seizing guns from prohibited persons in the Armed and Prohibited Persons System, and through multiagency sweeps in the Bay Area and Los Angeles County, conducting operations targeting individuals attempting to illegally purchase guns, and collaborating with local law enforcement partners. Ending the sale of illegal firearms through litigation against ghost gun retailers, and by putting a stop to the sale of illegal assault weapons in Orange County A copy of the decision can be found here.

Hey all,

I'ts a looonnng story, but here is a brief overview: I requested a copy of the oath of office for my state senator, Senate Pro-Tempore Toni Atkins and her deputy, Jason Weisz. The oaths came back with all signatures redacted, which indicates to me that one or both of the oaths was never fully executed. But they didn't redact the dates, and both oaths had already expired, which means both Atkins and Weisz are currently working unlawfully.

I filed a bond complaint against both Atkins and Weisz and against the two FOIA people who improperly redacted the documents. No word back on that and Atkins is still working.

I have contacted a bunch of republican organizations, who I thought would be eager to get Atkins arrested for violating Government Code sections 1360, 1362-1369 and Section 3 of Article XX of the Constitution of California, which per Title 18 U.S.C. § 912, includes fines and/or three years imprisonment. Also, all the work she's done since the expiration has to be voided (and if she never signed that oath, everything she's ever done has to be voided). Not a peep from any of them, which makes me think that maybe some republicans are working without proper oaths, too.

Curious about who else didn't have properly executed oaths, I made a request for 22 more oaths, including Scott Weiner's. They have a 2-week turn time. It has now been 7-weeks, and the Senate Committee has made it clear that this request will be "in process" indefinitely and never be fulfilled. I complained to his HR about the FOIA people violating the laws by not providing the documents, and HR didn't do anything

Toni Atkins and Scott Weiner are at the forefront of creating and pushing laws to destroy families and transition children behind parents backs. I feel like there are other groups who will run with this information and get them ousted. Do you guys have any suggestions on who I should contact/what other steps I should take?

I've posted on here several times over the last few years with prayer requests. I have caught California's income tax agency, The Franchise Tax Board, running eight bona fide criminal schemes to overcharge taxpayers. Summary: https://gwsandiego.net/blog/?p=611

I first became aware that there was a legit embezzlement/racketeering scheme going on in late 2016. I knew at that moment that it was my calling from God to put a stop to it. I have been fighting them ever since... and the more evidence I've collected, the more and more crimes I've documented.

A couple of years ago, I realized that the system is rigged to protect the schemes and the people who masterminded the schemes. I realized that the most likely way to stop the unlawful schemes is to get the staff to decide to refuse to comply with unlawful and unethical behavior any more.

It's a long story, but I think today may be the "Come to Jesus" moment for the staff. If not today, I think it'll happen soon. I am asking for prayers for the staff to be emboldened to stand up to management and refuse to comply any longer. Once the staff refuses to comply, things will turn around quickly to improve the system for everyone in California.

Text:

Group Flannery Associates, backed by prominent investors, quietly buys 55,000 acres of farmland in northern California

After weeks of local speculation, the purchaser of 55,000 acres (22,000 hectares) of northern California land has been revealed. The group Flannery Associates – backed by a cohort of Silicon Valley investors – has quietly purchased $800m (£635m) worth of agricultural and empty land, the New York Times has reported. Its goal is to build a utopian new town that will offer its thousands of residents reliable public transportation and urban living, all of which would operate using clean energy.

Edgar Jamie, 48, the owner of Black Sheep Farms, leases 25 acres of land, which is directly across the biggest Amazon warehouse in the world in Ontario, California. James walks along his farm as the Amazon warehouse looms from the distance. “We only have about two to three more years here—this land is already marked for housing,” James said. “It’s sad that we have rich soil and they [the developers] choose to build warehouses instead of farming.” Pablo Unzueta/The Guardian ‘Monstrosities in the farmland’: how giant warehouses transformed a California town Read more The project was spearheaded by Jan Sramek, a 36-year-old former trader for the investment banking firm Goldman Sachs, and is backed by prominent Silicon Valley investors including Michael Moritz, a venture capitalist; Reid Hoffman, the co-founder of Linkedin; Laurene Powell Jobs, the founder of the philanthropic group Emerson Collective and wife of Steve Jobs; Marc Andreessen, an investor and software developer; Patrick and John Collison, the sibling co-founders of the payment processor Stripe; and the entrepreneurs Daniel Gross and Nat Friedman, the Times reported.

Though Flannery has been purchasing farmland and empty plots over the past five years, it has only recently started interacting with local officials and residents, according to the Times and local reports.

Flannery has purchased land from farmers for several times more than the market value and become the biggest landowner in Solano county, an area 60 miles (97km) north-east of San Francisco. The land bought by the firm encircles Travis air force base in Fairfield, a city of about 120,000 residents and home to the Anheuser-Busch Co brewery and the Jelly Belly jelly bean factory.

Recently, Flannery has been meeting with local officials and representatives, according to the Times. It has also been sending out opinion polls to local residents to gauge their feelings on an initiative that could appear on Solano county voter’s ballots, according to the newspaper SF Gate.

“This project would include a new city with tens of thousands of new homes, a large solar energy farm, orchards with over a million new trees, and over ten thousand acres of new parks and open space,” a screenshot of the survey obtained by the newspaper reads.

The poll also asks if residents would support the project if it was placed in an area with “bad soil that only contributes 5% of the county’s agricultural production,” according to a Facebook post from Catherine Moy, the mayor of Fairfield, the closest city to Flannery’s purchases.

Despite the lofty goals set forth by Flannery, the group faces an uphill battle that will affect each step of the process of creating a new city from scratch. The firm has sued land owners who sold their land over what it describes as an “illegal price-fixing conspiracy”. Flannery would have to get the blessing of officials at the local and state levels and residents. It will also have to navigate environmental and zoning roadblocks, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Here is the link to the story: https://www.reviewjournal.com/investigations/nye-county-sheriffs-captain-indicted-on-federal-charges-2890178/

A powerful Nye County sheriff’s captain, whose questionable conduct was exposed in a Las Vegas Review-Journal investigation last year, was arrested Friday and later pleaded not guilty to federal charges of wire fraud, perjury and civil rights violations. Capt. David Boruchowitz, 42, stands accused of using his position to falsely arrest the former CEO of Valley Electric Association, Angela Evans.

He also is accused of committing wire fraud by issuing multiple press releases falsely stating that Evans’ arrest was the result of a court-authorized process, when she was actually arrested “under false and fraudulent pretenses and without probable cause,” according to a statement from the U.S. attorney’s office.

“The indictment further alleges that the false arrest was part of a larger scheme to defraud the former CEO of her job by falsely alleging in various court documents that the CEO embezzled services from the VEA,” the U.S. attorney’s office said. Boruchowitz appeared briefly in court on Friday, when U.S. Magistrate Judge Brenda Weksler ordered him released from custody. He pleaded not guilty to charges of deprivation of rights under color of law, perjury and four counts of wire fraud. “I’m not going to talk to you,” he said when asked for comment outside the federal courthouse in Las Vegas.

The indictment, filed Wednesday and unsealed Friday, alleges that Boruchowitz helped orchestrate a scheme in 2019 to falsely accuse Evans of criminal conduct while concealing the “nature and extent of his personal interests” in the utility company. A Feb. 12, 2022, Review-Journal story raised questions about Boruchowitz’s criminal investigation of Evans around the same time he helped to form a group that was trying to unseat the utility’s leadership and considered running for a paid position on its board.

Boruchowitz alleged that Evans had used about $80,000 in association resources to move an electrical pole on her property, but county property records showed that she had not purchased the property before the pole was moved. Then-Nye County District Attorney Chris Arabia refused to file charges. Depositions in Evans’ civil case against the county showed that then-Sheriff Sharon Wehrly knew about Boruchowitz’s actions in the Evans case but did not see a problem with Boruchowitz’s potential conflict.

The indictment alleges that Boruchowitz lied while under oath during a deposition in a federal lawsuit filed by Evans against Boruchowitz and Nye County. Prosecutors allege in the document that Boruchowitz lied about knowing that the first search warrant executed against the utility company was the result of a tip from someone identified in the indictment as “K.J.” He also is accused of lying when he claimed he did not know of “K.J’s bias against Evans,” and that he did not know “K.J. had demanded the resignation of the VEA Board.”

‘Danger to the community’

During Friday’s hearing, Assistant U.S. Attorney Bianca Pucci asked for the judge to impose release conditions on Boruchowitz that included preventing him from posting to social media about possible victims or witnesses in the criminal case. “We do believe that there is a danger to the community with threatening and endangerment of witnesses,” Pucci said.

The judge granted the restriction, also ruling that Boruchowitz cannot possess a firearm or work as an active duty police officer with the power to detain or search people. He was not required to post bond.

Assistant Federal Public Defender Joanne Diamond told the judge that Boruchowitz is still employed by the Sheriff’s Office, though he is on administrative leave, and that he is attempting to retire early. Boruchowitz signed a financial affidavit to qualify for the appointment of a public defender, but the judge asked for more information on his financial status to be filed under seal.

History of investigations

The newspaper investigation also detailed Boruchowitz’s history, including prior investigations by state officials and the FBI that found questionable actions. In both cases, those were turned over to Wehrly, but she only imposed light, if any, discipline. In 2013, Nevada Department of Safety investigators found that Boruchowitz was using videos of adult Nye County residents having sex to hold porn matinees at work. The videos had been seized in a child porn investigation.

Boruchowitz told investigators that he showed the videos to “a lot of people” — not because they were evidence or part of an investigation but for “coping” and “comedy relief,” according to the report reviewed by the Review-Journal. In 2015, the FBI found Boruchowitz was having an “inappropriate relationship” with a probationer, and agents turned their findings over to Wehrly. She gave Boruchowitz a 10-hour suspension, records show.

Wehrly also repeatedly promoted Boruchowitz throughout her tenure after he endorsed her for sheriff.

Leslie Peeler, who was commander of the state Department of Public Safety’s office of professional responsibility when it investigated Boruchowitz, was surprised to hear that Boruchowitz was promoted.

“We have fired people for not nearly that bad of conduct,” Peeler, who retired in 2018, told the Review-Journal in 2022. “It bothers me as a professional.” Six months after the Review-Journal story ran, the FBI raided the sheriff’s headquarters, but Boruchowitz at the time said he was not the focus of that investigation.

On July 6, Nye County Sheriff Joe McGill placed Boruchowitz on administrative leave after it became clear that there was a federal grand jury formed to look into his conduct. McGill beat Wehrly by a wide margin after the Review-Journal stories exposed that she failed to rein in Boruchowitz’s conduct or significantly discipline other officers who released an impaired driver hours before he killed three people in a head-on crash.
