The church was, by far, the most strict institution I have ever participated in when it comes to abuse.
When the church separated from the Boy Scouts, they introduced their own training materials for child protection. It is more strict than the BSA. Two deep at all times. No rides with only one adult. Adults must be same sex or a married couple. Report even the slightest suspicion to authorities and the bishop. Learn how to identify grooming and abuse. Etc...
Every time I have encountered an individual such as yourself who claims the church is rampant with abuse and such, and I question you why you did not report it to the authorities, or the bishop, I am met with silence.
Go ahead, name names. If they abused kids, they have no right to privacy. The public needs to know who they are and what you saw, and you need to testify in court so they can never harm another person.
Because I was a 6 year old and my life and the lives of my family were threatened?
What the fuck is wrong with you?
Also, I dont know what strict rules you're talking about. I was forced to be alone with our bishop in his office countless times. Though that's not the person who abused me.
Often times the abuse is at the hands of church members but not necessarily happening in the church.
Everyone I know who did report to their bishop was told that they asked for it and needed to repent and the men who enacted the abuse never held accountable.
I was a care taker for a young woman with mental disabilities who was raped by her brothers when as he was 14. She was forced to carry the baby to term and her brother's who raped her went on to serve missions for the mormon church. No repercussions at all.
Just because you dont personally know about something doesnt mean that it's not occurring. You're straight up retarded if you believe there isnt abuse taking place in the mormon church.
And its likely that those who you have posed this question to in the past responded with silence because you clearly take an oppositional stance and assume that a victim of sexual abuse is lying if they chose not to report the abuse. You quite literally dont deserve a response.
"Most strict institution when it comes to abuse"
Yeah, because men who are sexually abusing children give a fuck about breaking rules, right? Jesus sometimes I'm just completely shocked by how retarded some people are.
I did come forward in 2010, and absolutely nothing came from it aside from me being re-traumatized. Seems you don't understand how difficult things like this are to prosecute 20+ years after the fact. Which is why the majority of child sexual abuse cases never see the light of day.
I've dedicated my life to helping others process and overcome the effects of abuse and sexual violence.
For all the "save the children" talk that goes on here y'all seem to have zero idea how to actually talk to someone who has survived this type of violence. Thankfully I've done years of trauma work surrounding this and am no longer triggered by people like you.
Again, you have zero clue as to how these things work.
I understand your sentiment but the way you communicate about this stuff is so inappropriate I honestly cant tell if you're actually autistic or what is going on.
I get that you love the church and that it upsets your world to acknowledge that this stuff is taking place within the church, but that doesnt mean that I owe you the details of my experience beyond what I willingly shared in my initial post.
You should be mindful of the way you speak to survivors. Thankfully I have had the opportunity to process it all through years of trauma therapy and am no longer triggered by people like you who are utterly devoid of tact and grace.
I was sexually abused as a very young child too, not in church but family “friend”. This my frens is a very hard reality a lot of people deal with the hidden secret. Some people have blocked out all memory of abuse and it manifests itself it terrible ways, could be alcohol, drugs etc. This is life long trauma that you can only become a functional adult with the help of Jesus Christ. It is a very terrible thing. Much love to you PankekGirl ❤️
You seem woefully ill informed on the effects of childhood sexual abuse, or the outcomes people typically see when they do come forward.
I suggest that if someone dares to share their experience of abuse with you in the future that you shut the fuck up and listen with an empathic ear and try to have some fucking compassion.
It is hard for the abused to come forward when the powerstructure is corrupt and deeply involved. If a victim can come forward safely they absolutely should. To who though?
Overly strict rules are a sign that there is a problem with whatever the rules are trying to prevent. You dont need a "keep off the grass" sign if everyone is using the sidewalk. The worst part is when these rules are just an illusion for plausable deniability.
I agree with you here, but unfortunately the child or children are often taken from their home and put in homes with strangers. Even if they are lucky, and they aren't abused in new ways, they suffer from the loss of other family members, cherished pets, friends, etc., and the difficulty of being thrown in with a completely different "family" culture. It really is terribly traumatizing. Obviously, it can't always be avoided. Some parents are homicidal sadists, but so are some foster parents.
I named names once. I was an adult and not actually involved it just looked pretty sketchy. They decided there wasn't enough evidence to prosecute. I'm pretty sure it was true the guy was excommunicated. Then the whole area had to follow the "overly strict" rules. I had to listen to so much whining. I told a couple people what I knew about the gruesome why, then they understood. But I felt weird going around popping people's little innocent bubbles.
I think Mormons are better then most at safety but there are lots of sick people out there and a church with tons of kids is a good target.
I grew up in the church.

I grew up Baptist, and had similar experiences. To this day I get creeped out by uber religious people.
I don't know how people can STILL be so adamant that religious people ( no matter which denomination) can't be sexual predators.
My stepmother is still saying that Duggar kid that's been in the news lately was set up because she can't believe holy rollers can do wrong.
🙄
I think for a lot of people it would just completely shatter their world view to acknowledge the truth about most organized religions.
As the old saying goes, denial is a hell of a drug.
My opinion is organized religion is ultimately about control, not the actual religion part, so any pattern of abuse etc therein fits the mold.
No one is preventing you from doing it now.
All your rationalizations is really just you giving into fear....and that's what they want.
Maybe your role in life was to experience this and stop it so other innocents don't have to suffer?

The authorities are in on it too. You awake?
Name names. I'm on your side. Let's get justice.

I am sick and tired of false accusations.
If there was a crime, let's hang them.
If you're making it up, let's hang you.
Sensitivity be damned. There are people out there eating kids and every last one of them needs an appointment with a tree and a rope.
You seem woefully ill informed on the effects of childhood sexual abuse, or the outcomes people typically see when they do come forward.

You sound like a real prick.
Ears open.

If no one comes forward no justice can be done.
Reveal the crime. Reveal those who hide the crimes. Stop empowering them.

True. Our kids are pure and naive. We adults in the church have a duty to protect.
When a criminal is named, we take action.
LOL
Yeah okay its not rampant in any church ever because YOUR CHURCH does things right. Very nice. Thanks. Ill let all the victims know. Stay humble
Mormons gonna morm.
It’s ignorance like yours that keeps this covered up.
Mormonism was built on men’s desires to “be fruitful and multiply” with as many women as possible.
Any institution of hierarchy and legalism is ripe for coverup and abuse.
I should know what we actually believe.
Why are you covering up crimes? Bring them to the light
