Respectfully I’m not a 20 year old with his whole life ahead of him. I’m 32, beaten-down and tired. People don’t look at me as a fountain of potential anymore.
I rebuilt my life (for the sixth time) in 2020 at the age of 45. My biggest lesson in all of this was to trust God. I was an atheist until 2020 but received a message from God that I needed to relinquish control and allow him to take the wheel. It was a pivotal moment in my life -- and a reminder that we are right where we're supposed to be.
I’m just gonna add that God stepped into my heart after a long period of me half-heartedly participating in that relationship. It came with a thirst to be close to Him like I have never felt.
It seems that God has done this with a lot of people. Never going back , I’m fully embracing whatever the Lord has for me.
Everyone older than you would love to be 32 again. It's all the perspective you choose.
Pick up the book, "Think and Grow Rich," by Napolean Hill. It's a great starting point. Once you've consumed that a few times, keep reading other self development books. It's all about building momentum and that starts with your first good choice, then your second. Before you know it, you'll be on your way.
Another great book is, "How to Win Friends and Influence People," by Dale Carnegie. This one will help you become an excellent communicator and there are few things in life that will help you achieve more in your personal and professional relationships than being a good communicator.
You've already demonstrated your courage and bravery in choosing your life over the Mandate. Never forget how strong you are. Many people can't do that.
You've got this. God has a plan for you. He will show you the way. 🙏🏻
Well then you're a 32 year old with his whole life ahead of him. Who cares how other people look at you, how do you look at yourself? As others have mentioned, it seems hard to find good workers these days. If you're a hard worker I have no doubt you'll look back on this as just a bump in the road. Be optimistic.
Please dont. I am currently 66 years old. I got laid off a great job in 2020 but because I was close to retirement I did not look for more work. I got this great job at the age of 48. Thats how long it took me to get a decent job all jobs before that were minimum wage. Unlike you I did not save any money so I am now 66 with only pensions. We moved to a small town on Manitoulin Island picked up a cheap house and we now have our own garden in the back yard. We have spent the last 6 months picking up canned vegetables and tomatoes, beans etc with an expiry date 3 years into the future and have enough just in canned goods to do us for a year. Plus we now grow our own vegetables and have 2 freezers full of meat. Also a generator in case the hydro goes out, propane and a wood stove. You need to get prepared. 32 years old is young you still have the rest of your life ahead of you. This upcoming food shortage cant last forever so things will turn around.
The downvotes mean..
How you are looking at yourself is what determines your success. You're a 32 year old with his whole life ahead of him.
Me?
Broke at 38. Met a guy. Worked for him 6 mos. He was 75 then. Sold me the whole thing on payments. As in handshake. Because I had a good attitude and busted ass. Just a regular schmuck who dropped out after 8th grade. But that's NOT how I define myself.
Now go kick some ass.
First and foremost-Thank you for your service.🇺🇸 Chronicle your journey. Both through a journal and video. I’m sure many many people are in your position and would love to see you pull yourself up and over this obstacle. And that’s what it is. An obstacle. Picture yourself daily where you want to be at in 1 year. Create it in your head. You WILL get there. Just take the first step. Sounds like an exciting adventure to me! One to tell your grandchildren about! ☺️
32? You have your whole life ahead of you. At the age of 32 you have the wisdom to know better, the tenacity to find your dreams and make them come true.
My advice… Wherever you end up, make sure that you start going to church, reading your Bible, joining a men’s Bible study. It’s those other people in that group that will build you up, pray for you, and help you with whatever you need.
Best wishes to you God bless you and have a great night
I am 53. Lost my 25 yr career due to vaccine mandates and my husband to cancer in the last 6 months. You need hope. Start looking at a relationship with the Lord to help guide you on the path He wants you to take, not the one you planned. It sucks being lost, grieving for a lost life. Look for the small things to be thankful for.
You helped me more than you know, putting it into words, grieving for a lost life. I wasn’t exactly happy in the forces but it was all I ever knew, lady you actually made me tear up a bit. Thank you so much, God bless you
Only 32? You have 2/3rds of life your ahead of you, since you saved it by refusing the jab. That was your first good move for your future...more to come. Just don't let ego get in the way, accept any honest job that comes along, even if just temporary. You will be fine. You proved your braveness when you refused to die their way. I applaud you.
Not with that attitude. You're full of potential as long as you are determined to harness it.
I've taught myself to fix cars, hydroponic gardening, basic electrical and plumbing in the past 6 years. Now I'm working on a new programming language to help automate my house. When I need a skill to accomplish something I just go at it and I make it a point to never stop learning. The hardest part is getting through the "you don't know what you don't know" phase. But I've done that enough times now that I am able to power through it without getting demoralized.
I'm certainly not a master at any of these trades. Like I'm not going to go near a serious engine repair on my car because I can't risk it. And I'm about to have the shop replace a hub because I just don't have the bandwidth to do it right now and it's a serious problem to get fixed ASAP. But I did rebuild the engine on a riding lawn mower and repair seemed just fine. For sure I'm way above the average person who typically has zero skills in this stuff.
If I were in need of a job and somebody had an entry level position related to any of this stuff, I think that I would have a decent chance of landing it. For sure the pay would suck just getting started but if I deal with that kind of work every day my skills would round out quickly. But right now I could certainly clean up a job site, stock parts, think ahead, and do the easy work with minimal supervision.
Dear fren, if you want, please accept the following advice from my own experiences (started new life with 40, than again with 49 and now I have to make a little start again with 56):
Essential is your energy, how you feel -> get clean with your past through forgiveness for everyone and everything
Take a bit of money, a bit of time and a very nice place to heal, to refresh and uplift yourselve physically, mentally and spiritual
With higher healthier energy and good spirits you will hear gods voice, follow his advice, the signs and invisible invitations -> you will connect with your purpose
Only then pull through and go after it with all your power and good will.
God bless and protect you and show your talents, helpful friendly people and a wonderful place to work and live.
People here pay 75 bucks an hour for a handyman. I have a tool trailer with a bunch of tools and I know how to use them.
Do you have any practical skills you can use? There are many actual hands on jobs that apparently people just can’t do anymore so they pay out the ass for them.
AC repair, plumbing, elec, carpenter, sprinkler installation, etc. I know a guy who bought a water truck and makes 200k/year hauling water.
I went off-grid at 48 and am trying to establish a food forest in northern ontario. I feel my body starting to complain, but I'm unable to turn back. It's been 7 years of work and there's a lot more to do but I wouldn't ever go back to living as a cog. My biggest hope is that the world we all deserve appears and I can watch all of you young folk thrive.
The fact you want to work sets you apart in this day and age.
Literally.... pick ANY trade. Carpenter $$$$$$, Plumbing $$$$$$, Electrical $$$$$ and all in huge demand with labour shortages that won't be getting better.
You'll have contractors lined up to teach you if you show up every day, learn and work hard.
Trades don't care what age you are. It's all about efficiency and quality of work.
I restarted at 27 and now own my own contracting business. Following my steps you'd have your own business by 45.
That's 33 years of high pay work ahead of you. $65000 * 28 (remove apprenticeship years) = $1,820,000 of earning potential just as a journeyman.
Plenty of time to start a family and support them !!!!
At 32 you have an incredible amount of time to pick your head up and make great things happen…start today, you’ll be amazed at how good your life can be in a very short period of time. It’s gotta start with YOU…hang in there, stay strong, stay in touch with us Patriots and stay in touch with God.
Come to Huntsville Alabama where we have jobs coming out of our ears. We are the fastest growing city in Alabama and you could rent our guest room lol also you can join me in helping the neighbor with his tree cutting biz

I’m 42 - would be interesting to hear that story. I feel I took the wrong fork in life a decade ago and wish I would have taken the other route.
It's not too late! Get on the right path fren!
I’m just gonna add that God stepped into my heart after a long period of me half-heartedly participating in that relationship. It came with a thirst to be close to Him like I have never felt.

Then you have already won.
I have!!! I have a peace, even amongst all of this crap. I have moments, but prayer gets me through it.
God is in control.
You give me hope, thank you. I’m 44 and I’m starting fresh in a couple of days.

Yes! It's like a snowball effect in the other direction!
First you have to push hard because the momentum isnt swinging in your direction, but once you start, you can't stop! Winning gets easier and easier!
I second these book choices. Then re-read them every year. You pick up something new from them over time as you grow and evolve.
You've got to look at yourself as a fountain of potential. God does, and thats why he has a plan for you in the Great Awakening.
I bet there's 50+ year olds on this site that would love to be 32 years old during the awakening.
Id get a job and start making friends with a local farmer. If his harvest is limited, he is likely to give to people in his circle first.
Oh to be 32 again….
under different circumstances yes, go back to doing what I was doing at 32, no thanks
Doing handyman work in agricultural areas is satisfying as can be. Cash money and barter=freedom.
Everyone needs a hand with something. Build your skills as you earn.
Man, if I was 32 again....... I'd be way less broken and twice as productive.
Me me me me !!!!

My cousin started a new life as an electrician at your age and it happens all the time in the trades.
Started retooling my career at 31. Started making decent money at 34. A lot 9f it depends on what you want to do. Or are content doing.
Oil fields. Can make lots of $$ quickly, no jab necessary
You are pretty much shit outta luck at 32. Prolly time to start thinking about an old folks home.

At 32 you may not feel like a young man, but, you are!
Look into stoicism and listen to some Jordan Peterson lectures. His will help you get into a better mind space.
Fren, you have no idea how unbelievably wrong you are.

32, vet here.
Same, got a few random jobs but generally can't work around people now days.
I'm the guy who spouts off random bullshit making me sound crazy, but I don't give a fuck.
