Now. Revolution Calling is SO GOOD. Operation Mindcrime is a fantastic fucking album and if you are unfamiliar I say it's essential, unless you just can't do rock. It's not even really what I'm normally into, it's just that essential. A real work of art.
100% As far as dystopian rock operas, it's waaaaay more energetic and less silly moments than The Wall. But I still have to go with 2112 by Rush for top spot. Mindcrime is so very close though
The Wall tbh for me is just silly. A few good bits here and there.
Now. The thing with 2112 vs OM. Basically I think 2112 is better for various philosophical and musical reasons, but I think OM is probably more "culturally and artistically significant" as 2112 basically puts an existing work (Anthem) to music, while OM is its own thing, a fantastic story....
