Yes, and I cannot be sure of what it is. My narcissist parents, and one narcissist teacher certainly had a huge negative affect on me. As for other outside forces, I have no idea. I sleep extremely poorly, have nothing good going for me right now, and frequently wish I wouldn't wake up.

The conspiracy I remember regarding that was everyone's mortgage was fully paid off. That's unfortunately a powerful motivator. If someone in the area were to start talking about being honest, the neighborhood would severely discourage it, along with informing whoever paid off said mortgages. Those people would then have their and their family's lives threatened.
