I would have more respect if they just outright said "this is who we want to run." Fine. But it is the charade of going through the primary process under the guise that we little people have a say only to turn around and flip it is what will destroy them. Not sure I care..

Those words mean so little to me now. Which is sad - because there are people who are truly hurt by this kind of bad behavior. But I blame it on the kids who have cried wolf 50 billion times...their behavior is far more odious. They weaponized compassion.
Remember the PPP loan program at the beginning of CV for small business? I was very involved in learning about it because my family has a small business. They got shut out of the first round because larger businesses with better access to the banks gobbled up the cash. Small business as defined by the program was any company with up to 500 people - I remember asking someone thst was giving a presentation about it and he said the definition was according to ERISA guidelines. But he thought it should have been capped at 200 employees as those other companies had other options.
I played around with the website www.pandemicoversight.gov which listed the different business, the loans they got, etc. I remember doing a sort to see who got the biggest loans. One of the largest? Planned Parenthood. Now, PP has something like 5-6K employees and gets something like $500M from the government via Medicaid reimbursement alone. I remember thinking how in the world they could do that? They got millions while legitimate small businesses were being pushed into a second round. It turns out that they are structured as individually incorporated charities. Yep, they are basically franchises, like Burger King. Except the local BK wasn't getting $1M in PPP money.
This guy was asking g the question of why now? Why bring this story out now? The theory is that most vax injured are Democrats. They are facing an uphill battle in the election and the party is afraid that the victims of vaccines - that their party promoted - and thus disproportionally affected their core voters, might divert their votes and vote for an anti-vax Democrat, Robert Kennedy.
Several years ago, my husband got involved in Oakanawan karate. His sensei was a woman. Tiny thing but had power. Could jump kick above her head. My husband is a big guy - 6''4" - and while he could not move as fast, his physical strength just gave him an edge. One day, he was paired with a woman with a higher belt than he had at the time to challenge him. She went a little low and he instinctively reacted with a shot to the head that made her eyes roll back. She shook it off because she knew what she had done, But it illustrates that no matter how good you are as a woman, you are always going to be handicapped with a physical disadvantage that is very hard to overcome.

If you are in CA, you are likely familiar with the shit show the insurance markets are. (BTW, this is spreading to other states.) A lot of carriers have exited writing new business and now are begin to exit (not renew) altogether. State Farm is the most recent example. The CA FAIR plan run by the state has been the stop gap for this - basically an insurer of last resort. A barebones policy that covers fire only. There was an article recently that emphasized that the plan has grown tremendously over the last couple of years but that liabilities are now trending around $300B but they only have $200B in the bank. An actual carrier with this kind of balance sheet would likely be put into receivership.
There is argument the companies are looking for bailouts (they have to pay into it under law), but I would add that while there is an element of truth to that, in part it is because the CA Department of Insurance did NOTHING over the last four years. (I don't think one new auto policy has been approved since CV and I think most of them still work from home. They have something like 1800 employees- WTF do you people DO?) I asked a friend of mine who works pretty high up for one of the publicly traded agencies about it. I said "do you get the feeling they are trying to crash the whole thing and then turn around and blame it on the convenient boogeyman?" Let's just say she didn't disagree.
