I think that the true mark of the beast is when you sell yourself out for convenience. You are willing to back down from a possible fight for your life, so that you aren't singled out, inconvenienced, etc. Revelation 14:9-11 says,

I became very unpopular very quickly at work for a while, when I said that the UV robots used to sterilize rooms were pointless. They were like, OMG, $80K machines are used to disinfect the Rona! And I said that since the virus was bullshit, that the whole point of buying the machines were for money laundering. They want to keep people thinking that these elites, A-list celebs, politicians, etc., are still roaming free and alive, long enough to do what they need to do behind the scenes. i. e., draining the swamp Hillary was arrested in 2017, for example, but they have to make it look like she's not.
