For now, certainly. Eventually maybe we get to a state where we don't NEED laws and most people don't need/want them*. (I personally don't think they should ever be totally banned - e.g. the mother's life is a thing. My aunt got pregnant but it turned out to be in her fallopian tube so would have killed her as well as the baby, so had to abort. When she got pregnant again the same way, same result so she - or uncle, not sure which - got fixed and they adopted.)
*The cultural shift necessary here of course applies to all kinds of things...as does the GA hmmm.
I also feel exceptions are necessary. I personally never considered an abortion. For any reason. But I haven't stood in everyone else's shoes. If I had gotten pregnant from rape or incest, I don't think I would have wanted to end the pregnancy, but that never happened to me. Some women may not emotionally or mentally be capable of dealing with carrying the child of their torturer or abuser. That is so not my place to judge. Life of mother is another exception I believe exists as well.
That's a good point, I hadn't thought about the angle of bearing the child of an abuser - which in the case of incest, would also be inbred and often very close genetically (father/uncle type situations).
