I may sound insolent, but if school shootings are a price we have to pay so we don't have tyranny forever, so be it.
Regardless, we have 17 million veterans in the country. Many of them suffer from depression and have no jobs. If we put these people to work to protect schools, not only would they be able, trained and proper, they'd absolutely be willing to lay down their lives to protect children.
And therapeutic....to give back life, what many may perceive that they've taken.
Sgt Larry Little, my old roomie, I was 17.5 and he was 35. Worked as orderlies before I went to college. He followed me.
Hard time in Nam.
Hated his medals.
Ended up killing himself.
Wanted to be Elvis before the war.
God has hooked me up with veterans for decades...no idea why. I love em.
No, but out of 17 million I’m sure there are plenty who would be just fine around children. And like cheesecakecrush said, people need purpose. 🤷🏼♀️☺️
My high school had 2 school cops and it was normal, they got to know the students, they walked around. Do they not do this anymore? Was a couple decades ago.
We had the principal and he had a large flat piece if wood shaped like a paddle. We also have gun clubs. We never had shooters. Those were the good ol days.
Good question! I wonder if anyone has looked into the parent/family situations of these shooters? If they have, I don’t remember ever hearing or reading about it. 🤷🏼♀️

Agreed. No one wants to see their child die, but there will come a time where the "price" they are offering to keep your child safe is too great that death might not look so bad.
I was reminded of a quote where the speaker imposes the question: If war is so vile and repulsive that we will pay any price, including accepting eternal slavery to unhinged and cruel tyrants, just to avoid war?
Then again, there is a simpler solution to this problem of school shootings that exist: armed guards at schools and investigations to these allegations that the Feds are grooming and arming children to be their personal terrorists, among other things.

Miss my Larry.
Not all vets need to be around kids.

Dont besmirch the dead and my friend, please.
Armed guards in schools will sharply reduce incidents like these. If it's good enough for the banks, it's good enough for my kids.

We had a police substation in my HS in the 80s.

I wonder how many shooters have pedo/abusive parents? Or some other such situation?

,,,truth....
We all care about kids but losing America will be the death of everything good for the 7 billion on this planet

Great idea
