So as has been stated in this thread, the same accounts exist on all of the .win sites listed on the master index which is https://communities.win/
So an account created on any of the .win sites will work on all others - shared authentication among them all. So if you find your name is 'taken' here, you dont need a new account, you log in with your existing one you are probably using over on thedonald.win
Oh it was you who posted that info! I thought you'd posted it on another thread and it disappeared. Thanks for this, I was completely unaware and made a new account (and got confused when I went back to TDW and I was logged in with the new account)
Not everybody reads the communities page (I didn't know there was one!) as they think it is separate websites because it only started with TDW.
The idea that it's a bit like Reddit and that you would be logged into all communities automatically is great but maybe there should be a sticky until people become familiar with the setup?
How delicious would it be if WIN communities eventually grow and take Reddits place? The final FU from The Donald. LOL I really hope that happens. ;)
It was a thing communicated by the mod team, thedonald.win was first as refugees from r/thedonald needed a home but as the demand for other .wins came up largely caused by censorship, others were created with communities.win being an administrative type site hosting the central 'genuine' .win site listing and list of coding updates that would be deployed to all the .wins - the threat of anyone creating a malicious .win and trying to steal login details from people who think the rogue .win is another affiliated one in our grouping is still present.
You're right in that it has been an ongoing process driven by an organic demand to get this far that has not really been communicated in a simple way that makes sense to new arrivals - Create account on one, it works everywhere.
reddit may always be a niche for random small and dedicated communities that dont ever venture into 'controversial' topics that get them banned. However relentless crackdowns on anyone that steps out of line (like supporting POTUS.. the horror!) will only atrophy the site to the point where it ceases being relevant... a myspace type death is in their future I think.
I've just noticed the WIN UPDATE thread on TDW so it's my own fault for not reading that (I rarely read notices which is a bit dumb of me, and had no idea about the communities.win). There are likely loads of dumbasses like me who didn't know, but I figure now they are auto logged in when they visit another WIN it will immediately dawn on them so it's not likely to be an issue anymore. :)
I was aware of the kotakuinaction2 win which I occasionally lurked even though I'm not a gamer, but never knew Gavin Mcinnes had one.
It's rather thrilling that WIN could be a real alternative to Reddit for other communities, especially when Reddits Chinese money starts drying up (or Spez gets arrested for trading with the enemy) and they become another Digg.
I found it a couple of weeks ago when someone dropped a link on Gabs 'The Donald' group - or maybe it was QAnon and The Great Awakening group (Neon Revolts group). Can't remember but I immediately looked it up and here I be. The more places to browse the better imo!
I also visit the 2 Q forums on Voat but they seem to have a lot of downtime especially when there is something important going on. Without all these other forums I'd be a basket case!
I wish TDW hadn't made Q the name that dare not be mentioned though. Forum was more fun in the early Reddit days, when it highlighted all the weird woo with Trump, and the rumours of military plotting behind the scenes and asking him to run. Don't get me wrong I love it there and make sure I'm there a few times a day but it was more rounded when it had the fullness of the Trump 'experience' discussed.
Q is such a core of Trumps support that I find it sad that those who believe it is a complete larp have no tolerance for those of us who don't (or even those who just reserve judgment).
The fact that everywhere is so desperate to shut us down as insane conspiricists makes it look more legit imo. Can you imagine if they put the same effort into de-platforming people convinced that the moon landings were faked, or the earth is flat? Millions around the world believe that but conspiracies are a fact of life and people can believe what they want and those who don't believe can laugh at the believers. But THIS conspiracy is the only one you must not speak of or you will be silenced. Mmmm.

Same here, found this site last week or so! Magarick420 on TDW. That name was already taken here when I signed up.
Cool man, I’ll see you there as well! ? I’m Americanapplepie on TDW. Lurked first months and just made a profile there a few weeks ago.
Its the same account

You don't have a single submission or comment on TDW and you post some NPC shit here? I'm not buying it.
Different name in TDW. Americanapplepie. Don’t jump to conclusions. Apology accepted.
