I was just thinking.... Where are most people during Christmas day? With their families secure in their homes. Perfect time to make a move and protect the most people.
I'll tell you something interesting that peaked my interest. There was a small rebellion in the Canadian colony in modern day Toronto. There was a crime family running things and it eventually lead to a small rebellion by the first Toronto mayor.
That got the attention of the royal crown. The crown sent Lord Durham to do an investigation on why rebellions. This eventually lead to the arrest of the criminal families and beginning of Canada as a its own domain
George Washington's Surprise Attack: A New Look at the Battle That Decided the Fate of America
I started this book just after the 2020 Election. There are gobs of interesting stuff in this book. Washington pulled off a brilliant victory against 3 of the best regiments that Europe had. His use of artillery was lesson for Napoleon. Most of what we were taught about this battle is just plain wrong-- fueled by England and the Old World Order trying to make excuses.
I don't know how relevant it will be to our current problems, but it was excellent reading material for my recently-concluded deer season.
The Durham boat was indeed one of the keys to Washington's success at Trenton.

*Referencing type, design, or "class" if you can call it that. No, he didn't actually name it the "Durham." But it is interesting coincidentally.
