With regards to the mask in the gym. My thought is that if you want to reach the sheep, you have to make them comfortable. If they find you off putting or wrong just from looking at you (& you know there are strange people who freak out if you’re not wearing a mask, and others who shame you).
The public mask wearing seems like a smart move if the goal is to get the brainwashed to listen.
His message was so measured, so reasonable, it might even be persuasive, if people are willing to listen.
With regard to getting back to you, I can’t say why he didn’t, except these are trying times and if he has taken an interest in serving the good, he may just be busy.
