Nah, it's not rabid. There are tons of people there that still have hope (me being one of them). You have to consider how long TD has been fighting- fighting against reddit, fighting the nay-sayers, fighting the shills, fighting the fake doomposters. You all have been fighting to, but we have to be honest with ourselves- TD is the bigger fish in the pond. More active users, more media spotlight, more shit-talking. It draws a bigger crowd. Think about reddit several years ago, how it changed and shifted when a larger crowd showed up and started posting. Sometimes you get hype and higher energy in the community, but many times, the doomers band together and cause a shit-storm that isn't a perfect reflection of the core values of the long-term central community.
We all want the same thing in the end- we want the swamp drained and we want to see justice. If people get disheartened that are, in the end, your allies, give them hope and encouragement instead of a "I am holier than thou" treatment. No true user of either of these sites wants to see democracy die, anyone who says otherwise and gives up hope never understood the goals and core ideas of these communities in the first place.
