Probably because not only would that be the dumbest thing they could possibly do for several reasons.

Most significantly:

There are 20,000 troops guarding the capital, if it were to happen nobody would believe it wasn't an inside job.

Even if they pulled it off you really think the assailant would be able to get away!?

Not that I doubt their level of retardation, I just think they are fractionally smarter than that.
