This SAM562 flight has been going back and forth from Colorado Springs and Andrews AFB lately, and is now headed back east from Colorado. For some reason on each of its tracks it keeps taking these crazy routes around Nebraska.

I've been keeping an eye on SAM562 also. It's squawking as a gulfstream.
Its done some back and forth.
I did notice that looking at a couple of other flights that have crossed that same area have similar zigzag flight patterns around Nebraska.
Wonder if it's some radar issue that is causing wonky flight tracks to show up and not just three different planes deciding to going for a joy ride?
Usually the military craft, if they are on a mission, only transpond when they are near major air traffic areas like cities for safety reasons. Once they get into more clear airspace, they drop off the map, which makes sense because if you are military aircraft on a mission you don't want your flight path to be public. You'll see this a lot with the P8s and Rivets/Cobras.
Makes sense. Haven't noticed that with the Rivets etc. But haven't been watching that long. I've noticed they'll kind of come and go, and maybe the tracker just kind of fills in the blank with the tracks.
Interestingly, been zero visible traffic out of Omaha today, after being pretty active the last couple of days. Maybe due to a snow storm I know was passing through?
