It was crippled already by all the karma hunters who would post the same exact damn thing every five minutes, and the next day too.
My point is that when you see the same post ten times in the first 50 of "new," even if it is actually informative, you are going to have to work harder to find actual new stuff. I can only guess it started on TDR where karma whores would do anything for their fake internet points.
