They now state a positive result is not in itself an indication of infection with COVID19 and that a 2nd test along with a clinical diagnosis is required.
The new guidance on "Nucleic acid testing (NAT) technologies that use polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for detection of SARS-CoV-2" dated January 13th was updated/published on January 20th.
Documents released on the same day Trump leaves office and Biden agrees to start paying the WHO again.
Also, if you poke around the CDC for their definition of a "case," it isn't just a positive PCR test as I think many have used, maybe still are. It seems reasonable enough: must have some combination of test, symptoms, and demonstrated proximity to infected person-- until you get to the end where a case is also cause listed on death certificate, whether with or from. Even the most honest and diligent doctor is going to have a hard time determining what finished off someone with multiple problems. This is where the number fudging happens. Even though CDC is compromised, it's worth looking at their stats.
Yes I remember seeing this months ago! Where it mentions only 1 or 2 symptoms are necessary to classify a positive case WITHOUT a lab test. Some people still refuse to believe they were manipulated
