It's fine, I've looked at a bit of esoteric stuff myself. I'm not against it but I do have my grounding elsewhere.
To answer your question, I'm a Lutheran. It's pretty natural that I don't trust the Roman Catholic Church much given our history and our differences. That said, I do think a lot of Catholics are trying to be good Christians even if I disagree with them on a lot of things.
Forgive me if I'm being too contrary. But when seeking truth... must you be derailed by an isolated or otherwise insignificant potential omission?
Let me clarify. If I love a song by my favorite band. Most likely my first exposure was of the most polished version. Later on, after developing a love for the artist, I might see a documentary, or purchase some raw behind the scenes video. I might experience the messy or confusing extra material that was not necessary for covering the message in the original song. That's not to diminish the value of the cut material to the true fan.
All I'm saying is the truth is still the truth even if you find some details that are hard for you to process.
I have this in paperback and a plethora of bookmarks. I'm not saying this is truth and this link kinda sucks, but hopefully I open a door to people that didn't know this was found and translated.

Also you might want to look at the Book of Enoch that the Copts preserved. Interesting little hypothesis about the "Watchers" there.
Ahh yes years ago I did dwell into that. There is a lot that is worth the look and dissection.
I'm not saying I am gnostc, I always peruse into those territories that are unknown.
So a question. Do you trust the catholic church?

Thanks for the honesty. Organized religion has always been a dent in my approach, outlook, view, perception with things.
And Jasher... Gospels of Thomas, and Mary, too.
...also, despite the marketing and hype of Islamaphobia, Shia Muslims have oral history that if given the chance would benefit Christians.
