I think this or something similar was being used to cause wildfires. I saw footage of trees burning from the inside.

That could be a root fire. Root fires can travel for miles under ground before they resurface. If the tree is hollow, it could definitely appear to be burning from the inside. I did hear however that houses were burnt up but the trees next them were not. Do you have a link to the picture of the burning trees form the inside?
