I just looked it up because I was curious. According to Wikipedia (so take with a grain of salt) it was a movement that started in the 1970's, but it regained popularity in 2014-2015 because of a prank on 4chan. I'd post the link, but they had a picture on the article, so I figured I'd save your eyes and you can go look it up if you want hahaha

Still batshit to go along with it lol And it's hilarious how many of these pranks they adopt. It shows you how malleable these people are.
