If the vax doesn't actually stop the virus - for example small pox - is eradicated - (arguably was dying out long before the vax - but that's another story) - the vax clearly helped to eradicate small pox which no longer exists. But now there is barely a need for a small pox vaccine - they did themselves out of a business.
But what if the vax just prevents symptoms and makes the virus more mild... ?
This gives the virus the perfect breeding ground - it effectively becomes part of the organism.
Anyone that doesn't have the vax can easily catch a lethal virus from the vaccinated.

To be fair I haven't been on a plane in years. I mostly drive and have used the train a few times is all. Airplanes are just making themselves less and less desirable all the time.
This is how diseases ravaged the world that were spread by the early explorers, often entirely unbeknownst to the carriers. Syphilis, the flu etc carried from europe to places like south america were horrific because all the locals had no prior exposure to the pathogens.. and it hit them like a truck.
And it was a two-way street, a lot of explorers dying in delirium a long way from home to some bug that all the locals carried asymptomatically.
Contriving the same affect by chemicals is beyond stupid. A lot of the arguments against tampering with human DNA via tools like CRISPR is that if you have a specific disease-resistant type of human, that human will be able to carry the disease in a benign way to them, but will be able to spread it to non-modified humans to who the disease might be deadly. Setting the scene for some horrible pandemics to come by these typhoid-mary type carriers.
