Geez, would you stop calling it AF1? Give it the freaking tail number. It doesn't matter what that plane does if POTUS is not on it.

I do not know. It's a convention - not a hard and fast rule - that if the flight bears the POTUS, that it is listed as AF1 as the air traffic control call sign. There are many reasons, however, including security - that "AF1" is not used.

That said, if the VC25 with a tail number of 2-8000 is aloft, there's a pretty high probability that Biden is NOT aboard that aircraft.
