I have been doing some research on missing children statistics online and I asked two FBI agents out of Little Rock that were in my shop today about the crackdown on child trafficking and they said most of the kids are actually runaways. However they said there are still thousands of children that do go missing each year in the United States but it's not 800,000. They estimated it to be 1-2% of that number that are actually abducted which is roughly 8,000-16,000 kids! Thats alot! They also told me that most of the runaways are children in foster care and they will often times voluntarily go into the sex or drug trade for money to survive. So that tells me we have got to also figure out how to take care of these kids so they don't fall through the cracks. Too many people having sex, dropping babies everywhere and not taking care of them, it's heartbreaking.

I’m a foster parent and some days it’s a hard job. You have to try and break these kids barriers down slowly and unfortunately some kids just won’t respond. Yes, they have therapy once a week too. My son, that I adopted has run away back to his bio family and it’s been hard because he ran to another state. I hate to say this, but I’m being honest, it’s hard to reprogram what is instilled in them. It breaks my heart on a daily basis. I pray and pray for these kids. Please continue to pray and fight for them!
wow thank you for the reply it must be awfully hard, Im sure many of the kids come from traumatic homes. Hats off to you though! Much respect.
Thank you! I’m in it for them!
