He’s taking “senior status” on April 3rd which means he has the option to cut back from full time cases. (It’s a kind of semi-retirement/promotion that removes the limit on earning outside income from lectureships and suchlike) He’s indicated though that he will continue full time as much as before, so hardly a retirement in his case, and it will leave his current position free for a new judge to be appointed.
