Military in control.

Three military planes flew in formation at half time B-1B, B-2, B-52, (in that order) all 3 are Bomber aircraft and their numbers add up to 55, just a guess but military in control, booms coming, five by five.

Is it in any way abnormal that they flew B-52s over the event? I can't seem to remember ever seeing a B-52 ceremoniously fly over any major event, but I could be wrong.
