A friend from Pennsylvania with family in West Virginia shared a scary article today: https://www.desmogblog.com/2021/02/11/appalachian-fracking-boom-was-jobs-bust-finds-new-report
The scary thing is that this came from someone that works in a high level political office as a warning to him and his family who live in an affected area. It was a veiled warning that the industry is going to be collapsed and further destroy the economies and communities in the region.
At first glance it appears that "desmogblog.com" is a commie organization that is bent on destroying business in the USA. I suspect there are other factors at play here and that they are cherry picking facts as well as demonstrating manipulation that has been going on for a long time in the "rust belt" region to destroy the heart of industry in America.
Any fellow pedes and researchers well versed in Appalachia (especially the Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia region) that might be able to shed light on shit that's been spewed in this report?
This is pretty scary. That region is arguably one of the most productive and natural resource rich regions in the United States, but for the past 100 years there has been some kind of a systematic effort to destroy businesses and communities in Appalachia.
I think something needs to be done and at least should start in isolating the bad research and manipulation that's going on in information such as that found in this report.
Ive read a bunch of articles about pipelines in appalachia that were basically sob stories and depicting the people as hating them. 'i can smell the gas in my house from the pipeline outside underground' yea ok buddy i work in the industry and thats not how it works
Wow seriously? That's clearly bullshit.
I just started looking into this and thought this article was interesting https://seedscientific.com/fracking-statistics/
