Need some encouragement
New Fren
I’ve been dooming pretty hard today. My husband and I are trying to plan a trip to Hawaii for our anniversary in April, but now my husband isn’t really eager to go anymore because they’re talking about those stupid vaccine passports. I’m just losing hope that Trump and the military are gonna do something and starting to worry that this is really just how things are gonna be now. I just really want something new to get my hopes back up.
If you can, book a trip to Florida instead where DeSantis is advocating freedom not tyranny. Email Hawaii's governor/board of tourism and explain that you choose to spend $ in a free state. Let them know they can shove their communism up their ass. Pray for guidance and against the evil we are facing. You aren't the only one who feels this way. Take it one day at a time. This too shall pass.
Booked a condo in Kauai. They want us to spend another 3 days PRIOR in a Bubble Isolation Hotel before we can go to the resort. This is AFTER taking a COVID PCR 72 hours before leaving the continental US
So we kept the reservation in Kauai (owner was awesome, not his fault) and will stay there when things lift
And we changed our flight to Miami, and booked a condo in Key West for a week. Florida apparently wants our money- and we want to give it to them
In Florida , there is no covid ... if you don’t want to wear a mask, don’t. If you do, go ahead ... tell me to wear one and I will call you a fucking moron to your face and go about my day.
We need to get out of Colorado for a little while, but it looked like the bigger cities in FL are mandating masks. How is it in the Sarasota area? What about the keys? Any place you can recommend that I will never be expected or asked to put on a face diaper - not in the hotel lobby, restaurant, anywhere? I seriously need to spend a few days in a normal place to stay sane.
I live in Sarasota. Masks are rare among restaurant patrons and non existent among bar patrons, who in many cases are elbow to elbow at the bar. last week I ate at a high end place near downtown known for their great seafood and the bartenders were maskless too. Nobody seemed to mind. Sarasota has a mask mandate but since the gov ordered no fines for ignoring it the result is predictable. Signs on the grocery store entrance say to wear a mask; most do. Not me. So far CVS is the only place that asked me to leave since I refused to mask up, even though I pointed out that my blood oxygen level was sub 90 and I might pass out in the allergy aisle. Hope that helps. C'mon down!
