Exploring your faith is a lot like what is happening now in our world in this sense: don’t look to other people to role model what is right, don’t take someone’s word at face value to only build your foundations on what can be bad foundations, research for yourselves!!! For those feeling God calling you out there is only one place with the actual truth and that is the Bible. May God bless everyone who has not sold their souls to the devil!

Any pointers for the best Bible edition to start reading for a newbie, if I want the least polluted version?
https://www.blueletterbible.org/
They have an app too. You can look at original text and translation.
I use a couple bible apps only to help me locate what I know and can’t recall where it is as actual scripture reference recall of locale is difficult for me to memorize aside from favorite verses
Why would an app be wrong? From what I imagine Bible is full of intricacies and nuances, and an app might be very useful to navigate all this.
I second the KJV, although I do like the fact that https://www.biblegateway.com/ has the 1599 Geneva Bible as well.
Both are Reformation Bibles, translated from the original Hebrew and Koine Greek.
The Catholic Church is also on the side of evil in this spirit war of Good vs Evil; Ephesians 6:12
Thanks for this, I will check out the KJV as well.
It was written in another language in another era. So, if you want to know what the original said, you can go to Biblehub.com and in the Bible study tools, you can look up the original words in Hebrew and Greek. You can use Strongs to see what the word(s) meant. At the very top, is a tool bar with the Scripture and you can use the drop down box to see the different versions.
Now that is for people who love to go deep. But if you are a newbie and want to just read the Bible and get understanding, I would personally recommend “The Message” version by Eugene Peterson. It is easier to read and understand. It is not a “pure” translation, nor is it a Study Bible—it was not intended to be—but it is an excellent way to to read the Bible and understand what it is saying. Then you can go back and do a deep dive.
Eugene Peterson was a professor of Greek and Hebrew, but he found the average person did not care much for the Bible. So when he became a pastor, he began to “translate” between the two worlds of the Bible and modern world. Then he was asked to write what he had been doing as a pastor and that is how The Message version came about. Blessings, Fren!
The Message version sounds like what I am after, I will give it a try. I would definitely want to do the deep dive later on. Thanks!
I love my NIV study bible, though my grown kids and sons in laws have recently transferred to new Jewish Study bible because it is (they say) closest to Jesus root culture and understanding of it and that many things have been misinterpreted, left out and pagan cultures adopted in modern Christianity and have shown me many scriptures to prove it.
“The Great Awakening” ?
The Book of Revelations
Interesting ?
One of a handful that is very helpful right now as well as Isaiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Malachi, Esther (believe it or not) Jeremiah, Zephaniah, Habbakuk, Micah and Nahum, Joel and Ezra (Really makes me love my grandson Malachi’s name right now& though he is only a baby I pray he grows to be a like the prophet in the bible)
Well said.
Amen-have had faith since I was little but last few years find myself delving a whole lot deeper into scripture and prayer and asking for more and more discernment and wisdom
