Since the early hours of 2-14-21, we have been experiencing rolling blackouts in my area of Central Texas,S.E. of Austin. These blackouts have been occurring at exactly 17 minute intervals for the entire day today. "17" minutes on, then "17" minutes off. There's that darn number again. Pray for us, because we are single digit temps, and 17 minutes of power does not heat anyones home.

I work in customer service for a electric provider in Texas and today I received many calls from customer who have been without power for hours, in freezing temperatures. The hardest call was a customer who broke down crying. The thing is that the utilities have to follow ERCOT's directive, and ERCOT requested all the utilities to lower the power generation to protect the electric grid's integrity, while leaving over a million customer without electricity. There are over 10k active outages right now.
My thoughts are with you. I hope this is resolved soon.
Socialism tryouts.
